So Iron Man 3 has been out for a week in a fuckton of countries and apart from a hilarious in hindsight post about a watch I had not seen any spoilers in tumblr. It's been out for like a day and a half in the US and it's already all over my dash.

good thing I saw it today, then! )

I was thinking the other day on how much I love Girl!Tony/Steve, you know, as you do. It's just - Tony as a girl would leave Steve speechless with lust, poof, just like that, immediatly. She would be exactly his type! (domineering, smart, capable, powerful and slightly dangerous), not to say Guy!Tony isn't (see also: Bucky), but it'd probably take Steve a bit more to really get his act together. With Tony as a girl though? INSTANT SPARK.

They'd still fight lots, but he'd get a huge, horribly embarassing crush straight away, and it would be blindingly obvious to everyone but Tony, which of course would make her flirt even harder, because why the hell not, and the pressure would grow and grow and grow until they finally crash together after battling doombots or whatever, sweaty and high with adrenaline and kissing so hard it bruises, and they would end up having almost painful and reckless sex on top of one of the tables on Tony's workshop, surrounded by pieces of their costumes. Steve would be mortified afterwards, though it wouldn't last long at all because Tony would just sort of be lying there saying oh my god we must do that again, Jesus Christ, Steve, that was way too good for a virgin, you've probably been lying to us all, come on, come back, alright,

And then they would do it again. And again, until the rest of the team gets sick of it and make Jarvis turn on the sprinklers because goddamnit they want to sleep, okay?

And then Steve and Tony have really wet sex. And no one gets any sleep, the end.

I have so many Steve FEEEEELS. He's just. So lovely, you know? and goofy and silly and so very, very brave. I do sort of dislike it when he's portrayed as an insufferable goody-two-shoes in fic though. One of the bits of the movie that I though represented him so well was him bitching about hacking into the government, completely outraged, and then immediately going and breaking into the restricted weapons area because, sometimes, Steve can be such a sneaky, mouthy, curious little shit. And that's just how I like him :3 Oh, I just feel like giving Steve all the hugs. Especially in the movieverse, when he's so lost and alone. In the comics, he's at least had a good ten years of close friends and time to adjust and Avengers, and he's not nearly as naive and sweet as recently thawed Capsicle.

It's like, you know how people always tend to fall over themselves for the villain or the bad boys - me, I swoon for the good guys. Give me an upstanding moral character and I'll swoon! So vanilla of me, I know.

It's no coincidence that my boy is such a smart, good guy that honest to god frets because his local council's website won't let him pay his taxes and that gets super annoyed when people don't recycle. Sometimes it might be a bit much, but I still love him for it.

I even adore Tony Stark for his innate goodness, despite it being buried under layers and layers of smarm and charm XD and that's why I adore Matt Murdock as well, even though his layers and layers over it are of emo and angst an man-pain.

And anyway, it doesn't hurt that Chris Evans is pretty much exactly fits my physical type. Well, i usually like them with a lot less muscle, but on him? Mmm, big and broad is a good look on him.

*and so, the rampant Loki love. I really like Loki and find him complex and interesting, but a woobie, he is not. I don't deny that those qualities are sometimes more interesting to read about, but I don't quite get the hand-waving forgiveness he gets for everything.

SO, I read this Steve/Tony fic a couple of weeks ago and now for the life of me I can't remember the title/who wrote/much about it and it's driving me nuts that for some reason I didn't save it anywhere.

It had Steve and Tony still sniping at each other, and at some point Tony wanders into the kitchen not being able to sleep and Steve does this expression - and I really remember that bit because I loved that - of 'oh, it's you' when he sees Tony coming.

Er, any ideas?

In somewhat similar news, I went to see Avengers again last week and after waiting for ages to watch the second extra bit they TURNED THE MOVIE OFF halfway through the credits. ARGHHHH. So I STILL haven't seen that scene >:/

I am also behing on EVERYTHING. Every single show I watch? Behind. So much. Argh again indeed.

THE AVENGERS. ♥♥♥♥♥

LOVED THE HELL OUT OF IT, YOU GUYS. )

I was fully expecting going out craving all the Tony/Steve fic and all the Loki creepy fic, but apart from that now I want ALL THE NATASHA FIC. ALL OF IT. NOW. And Tony/Pepper, too. In fact, just give me ALL the fic, yeah?

And now I'm only using tumblr savior for One Direction now! (I'm not quite sure who or what One Direction is, but all my insticts say I don't really want to know, so.)

You know, it's really weird but Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes doesn't do much for me, perhaps because Jude Law's Watson gets me somewhat weak at the knees.*

Strange though, because RDJ's Tony Stark does funny things to my stomach. Especially in all those scenes in Afghanistan - those arms, and the hips and the swagger and ugh. So hot. The Avengers will probably BREAK people with all that hotness together in one single screen.

*I think it's how competent he is. And how superbly badass he comes across. Sherlock's John is still pretty badass, but you still want to pinch his cheeks a lot of the time, you know? And in a weird turn of events that's sort of the same reaction I have to Ritchie's!Holmes. A very 'awwww' one.

Saying that I have an Elektra icon. But she's more of a villain, so.

I finally got to see Thor today! I really enjoyed it. It looked great, had nice camera work, Chris Hemsworth looked suitably hot (though boy, would he look silly without the beard) and it was a fun movie all around. It had nice funny bits and nice dramatic bits and some really cheesy cringe-worthy bits because the world cannot be nice all the time. In all, I'm having a slightly toned-down but rather similar reaction to the one I had after watching Iron Man, which was of the sort of:

EVERYTHING IS MARVEL AND NOTHING HURTS. ♥

Thor is not Tony Fucking Stark, but his comics are also quite enjoyable, so I dusted off some of the ones I'd had lying around for ages. Right now I'm reading Thor: The Mighty Avenger, which if it was in DC it'd be Thor: Year One. So all in all, it's a charming, lovely and adorably silly retelling of that time he got banished to Earth for being too much of a party boy and he got to fight crime with Jane, all told in a lovely 60s style art. Read it if you can, guys! And of course, there's always J. Michael Straczynski's run, which was STUNNING. Very recommended.

And now I shall go back to reading Tony/Steve because this brought back ~feelings~ and because I just realise that there's just a few months now until Cap's movie and if we don't have a scene of Tony staring longingly into Cap's deep frozen eyes after the credits, I shall cry a lot.

I finished Michael Chabon's The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay yesterday and ;sjfdlsjdfljsdf so fucking good. ♥ An instant favorite, truly - it's just impossible to put down, and all characters are so very well described. I truly didn't want it to end. Sob. It's about a couple of Jewish kids in the 40s who create their own superhero, The Escapist, and about the way the war shapes them, and breaks them. It is seriously gorgeous, and if that synopsis wasn't enough of a deal-breaker, there's boy-kissing too, if you're into that! (and fantastic het too, mind.)

I hate reading long books on the computer, though - there's something about curling up in bed with a fantastic novel. But oh well, I looked everywhere for it, and none of the local book stores carried it (I did get The Yiddish Policemen's Union, though, which has one of the most beautiful cover designs I've ever seen, yay). It'll probably be the first thing I buy when I go to the states in December.

Aaaand comic talk! Featuring both New and Mighty Avengers, Iron Man, Daredevil, Fables and Astonishing X-Men. Mostly Iron Man, though. Because that's how I roll. )

AND NOW I HAVE TO FINISH MY HOMEWORK. WOE.

I was listening to Alex Turner's aside project today, The Last Shadow Puppets. I liked it! It IS a bit Artic Monkeys. Only not completely. It's very retro, very 60s, very Bond and very Cold War. It should be weird, but oddly, it's not - the songs sound a bit too much like each other, but in all, it's a pretty good album. Didn't see that one coming, lol.

Today was my last flamenco class. Well, not last, because I'm sticking around for another week to find out what the new teacher is like, but the last one with my group as it is, with my own teacher. It was really sad, we all teared up a bit and the place looked so desolate - they're selling all of the old costumes left, and taking the pictures down, and all. It's been ten fucking amazing years, and I wouldn't change it for the world. ♥

I've been reading all of Iron Man: Director of SHIELD, starting from the Extremis arc and oh, but how I'm loving it. Especially since Civil War and especially the Haunted arc - It's just so incredibly well written. I much prefer comics like this, sort of intimate and heavy on the psychology and character development and with mystery and detective work instead of the typical YAY SUPERHEROES KICKING EACH OTHERS page spreads that Marvel is so fond of. But really, it's fantastic! Tony is pretty much on the verge of collapse all the time and feels guiltyguiltyguilty over Civil War and keeps seeing all the people that died because of him - including the Cap. Tony's got Issues, and both Knaufs write them so well. ♥

Weirdly enough, Daniel Knauf also wrote Something Wicked for SPN. Smll world, huh? XD

(The annual was really bad though. It was very Bond, and Bond never translates well to comics - in live action movies, at least, the token sexy female spies will still be affected by gravity and, you know, reality.

There was an add on the backcover of El País Semanal yesterday with Christian Bale that said: Armani for Bruce Wayne. DUDE! That is SO cool! I WANT AN ARMANI ADD WITH TONY STARK IN IT. BECAUSE IT'D BE AWESOME. AND RDJ WOULD LOOK REALLY HOT.

I have three of Batman's most important series (The Killing Joke, Batman: Year One and The Dark Knight Returns) on my hard drive, but I can't seem to think of anything other than Marvel.

Strangely enough, I'd only read the second volume of House of M, and out of the blue Marvel México re-printed it in a single, pretty as hell paperback. And it was so good. So, so fantastically good. ♥ I hardly ever read comics in Spanish, but the translation was surprisingly good, so it's all well. (The House of M outtakes, though, didn't fare that well in the translation department, but they were ALL compiled into one volume and I couldn't resist. UM. Iron Man's was great (YAY FOR FREEDOM FIGHTER TONY!), as was Fantastic Four's (or, you know, Fearsome Four, lol). Spiderman's was a bit too long. Hulk's was just... weird. And the art sucked big time. The Cap's just about broke my heart, oh. And the rest were blah.)

I sort of wished I owned Spiderman's The Other series. Or Civil War, for that matter (even if I wanted to hurt everyone involved. Except for Ben Grimm. Ben Grimm was awesome and the only person that used his brain during the entire run), but the only reason I got to read them was 'cause my ex let me borrow them. So, yeah. No thank you. But still, I remember The Other as being really good - right about the time Tony Stark starts going slightly insane and builds the Iron Spider suit for Peter, and when the New Avengers could still stand each other. OH, GOOD TIMES.

Saying this because I'm really pissed at how things have been going for Spidey since Civil War. In a way, YAY, no one knows who he is anymore! In the other, the retcon was so fucking cowardly. And Peter choosing Aunt May (who was like, going to die veeeeery soon anyway, seriously) instead of Mary Jane was incredibly wishy washy of him. OH PETER. WHAT THE HELL.

In Runaways news, God, but I miss the early days colorist. They past few issues just look so cluttered and weird, and I know they have the same penciller, so really, FIRE THAT COLORIST. So bad, ugh.
