Title: The one about the recruits that didn’t make the cut
Word Count: 1800
Summary: In which Charles keeps on finding Arthur and Eames making out under the bushes near the mansion.
Author's Notes: Written for [personal profile] ignipes, who gave me the awesome prompt of 'that time Charles and Erik try to recruit Eames and Arthur'. You know that fantastic XMFC/Inception crossover on the kink meme? Yeah, this isn’t that. This is pure fluffy CRACK. It was really fun to write, though.

They find Eames in Vegas, turning into beautiful, dangerous women and egging on high rollers into betting more before taking their money, leaving them panting and hard and tied to their plush hotel chairs. )

Last night I dreamt that I was Charles (as in, Xavier, Charles Francis) and he had a very rickety and tiny flat at the top of a building and Erik was his BFF but he secretly ~pined for him~ and he had a little boozy party that included his weird new neighbors, and then at night the world went all light and comets came down and there was a giant weird light sign on the sea that was a portent of the end to come. No one seemed to find this all that strange. Erik slept over next to him in his tiny bed by his tiny kitchen (?) by his tiny sink and he barely had to get out of bed to make a cup of tea. And then for some reason he had some kind of clotted cream on his lips and Erik said something from the bed all sleepy and rumpled and for some reason he just leaned in and kissed him, with the excuse to let him try the cream but then Erik immediately started kissing back frantically and it all got out of control really fast from there. It was morning and the light was soft and there were light blue curtains on the window and the bed was warm and Erik was even warmer.

And then I also dreamt with Merlin and Arthur and they were in a cave but that's a bit hazy.

This might have to do with the fact that I stayed up last night to keep on reading a Erik-is-a-shark-AU.

My brain, I swear. The minute dream recording technology becomes available, I'm so there.

I went book shopping yesterday! It was ace. It's always such a thrill to have new books to read :3 I got: 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami, Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood, Castillos de cartón and Alias de geografía humana by Almudena Grandes, El Aleph by Jorge Luis Borges and Under the Volcano by Malcolm Lowry. Has anyone read any of them? Were they good/bad/meh?

I really want to write, but every time I try I can't seem to do anything. So! Leave me a prompt and I'll write you a drabble! Preferable fandom/pairings are Erik/Charles and Arthur/Eames, but I wouldn't be opposed to writing for Doctor Who. Go, go, go!

I posted fic yesterday! Inertia, Erik/Charles, XMFC. This was so satisfactory to write. :D And then I managed to make a typo in the title that I didn't see until this morning and omgsoembarassing.

In other writing news, I still can't get that stupid X-Men Atonement AU bunny out of my head. Should I just give in and write it? Thing is, I don't want to think of the logistics, all I want to read it and bask in the awesomeness of Erik being bitter about being the help and having the Xaviers pay his way to Oxford and at the same time hating that he can't help being in love with Charles and he still wants revenge on his dead mother (dead in... WWI? Still WWII and let's just ignore the 30s setting of the book/movie?) and he's torn about wanting to stay and wanting to be better than the gardener and meanwhile Charles is just irrevocably smitten and has been all his life AND THEN THEY HAVE SEX ON A LIBRARY. That's like, the clearest point I have. And Raven is Briony but she manages not to get anyone accused of rape. And they have powers and it's all very confusing. AND THEN EVERYONE IS HAPPY because that movie has made me cry enough times already.

UGH.

This fandom is so addictive. I'm loving it! And of course, the X-men universe always feels like a well-worn jumper that just fits right, for all that it's not like I've written lots for it. But I've loved it since I was a wee girl in love with the cartoon, so there's that. :D

Title: Inertia
Word Count: 7000
Summary They call to each other, partly because they're both attracted to power, and partly in a way that becomes obvious in those soft brushes against each other, all those touches and glances and the way they keep on surprising each other. How they could never be bored by one another.
Author's Notes: Betaed by the fantastic [profile] sablier_bloque! I’m running with the idea (based in trufax, even!) that the US placed those missiles in Turkey in April, and the culmination of the Cuban Missile Crisis was in October, so we have months instead of the weeks they made it look like in the movie.

They talk about books and philosophy and Charles gets to practice his rusty German as they drive across the country, sweating a bit against the vinyl under the sun he’d forgotten about in Oxford. The air is warm and dusty through the open windows as Erik corrects him on his pronunciation, turning to look at him far too much instead of at the road. Erik always stares at him like he’s the only person in the room, in the miles around them, in the entire earth. It should be overwhelming, but it strangely isn’t. )

SOOOO, today's episode of Games of Thrones is called Baelor, right? I better prepare myself for some intense pain, then. o____o

So I finally got to go watch X-Men: First Class last night, and then I proceeded to stay up until 5am reading Erik/Charles fic. So I think it's safe to assume that I loved it! It was smart, fun, angsty, complex, interesting and pretty looking, and after X3 and that horrible Wolverine movie and years of waiting for another decent X-Men film, it feels like I'm vindicated in that yes, the franchise is shiny again! YAYZ. spoilers! )

I loved the 60s setting, as well. It just added to the plot. The people involved in the Wolverine attrocity could learn from that, they made that one so vague it was just weird and unsettling. My dad didn't like it pretty much because they meddled with real-life affairs, and I had to do a lot of sighing and explaining that comics do that all the time, that that's what keeps them current, and that it goes way to the beginning with Captain America punched Hitler in the face that one time.

Went to see Wolverine last night. My God, that was bad. Or rather, it was entertaining, if you like EXPLOSIONS and STUFF BLOWING UP and EVEN MORE STUFF EXPLODING. Then you'd love it, I guess. As it is, it had me cringing a bit, it was that over the top. I just. I mean. It was FUN, it was, and it will always be nice to see Hugh Jackman being hot and shirtless all the time, but the movie sort of took everything that X-Men stands for - the deep prejudice issues, the empathic characters, the intricate storylines - and stomped on it and spit at it for good measure. AND THEN SOME MORE STUFF BLEW UP.

spoilerssss. )

I mean, it's not that I didn't like it, per se, it's still a comic book movie and I love those, but. I was expecting something better? Something alone the lines of the first two movies, that is. And instead we got X3 all over again. With added explosions. And GROWLING. Lots and lots of growling.

It's finally apocalypse day! And with it comes the large fic of doom! :D Okay, now we're playing a game. It's called 'guess which XMM mutants are Ale's favorite!' You only get one chance. Aaaand, go. It's weird, though - I've only seen X-3 once, and have been trying to forget it ever happened since, and with all the comics I've been reading all summer long, I spent a long time trying to remember canon, lol. At one point I included Genosha and then had to cut it out, and the same with Pietro and Wanda, haha.

Seriously, I had a great time writing this, and this is truly one of the most entertaining ficathons ever. :DDD

Title: Migratory Birds

Fandom: Supernatural/X-Men Movieverse crossover
Summary: When the end comes, one brother is on one side, and the other on the opposite.
Author Notes: Betaed by the awesome [livejournal.com profile] mellafe and [livejournal.com profile] amchara, written for [livejournal.com profile] kellifer_fic in the occasion of [livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon. Sort of AU-ish for SPN, post X-3 for X-Men.

I was going to do upload some end-of-days themed songs, but Muxtape decided to get in trouble with the RIAA right this day, lol.

Now this is just crack of the best order - mary sues! inconvenient telepathic bonds! L337 speak! mentions of TENTACLES! HEEE I HADN'T LAUGHED SO MUCH IN A LONG TIME, I SWEAR. XDDD Seriously, give it a go. I usually like my Bobby/John all angstalicious (and boy, do I like Bobby/John, even if I hardly ever talk about it in here), but this is just. perfect. YES.

Also. Illustrator is bad for the health, yo, I keep on pressing shift instead of ctrl whenever I want to select something else. And I still don't get over how awkward is to press shift+apple+alt at the same time in macs for, you know, EVERYTHING.
