nekare: (Winchester brothers)

I forgot I had forgotten my SPN review this friday since I was in a hurry XD So, take two!

Supernatural 2x06 - No Exit: Okay, I think I like Jo. You can all shoot me now. Dunno, she's still not my favoritest character in the world, or anything, and she acts waaaay too young (especially for someone who's supposed to be Dean's love interest, because really, she sounds/looks 18 and Dean is 27 already...), but she can think under stressful situations and she's brave, even if she really doesn't know what she's getting into.

I missed Sam ;-; It must have hurt him so to crawl all over the sewers with his broken arm, poor thing. (And man, in how much pain JP must have been for the producers to cut back his onscreen time like that! O_o) But Dean was awesome (no surprise there, though), all worried and anxious and all. I liked this MotW, it was scaaary, and pretty original. I love how he tries over and over again how out of her league she is, but in the end, leaves the choice to her, because it's what he never had. *sniffle*

And the final revelation... Yaaaaay, John angst!! Ah, Papa Winchester, at this rate, I'd take even mentions of you. Ellen was being really contradictory about EVERYTHING, though. She's all 'John was family once,' at one moment and 'Winchester man cannot be trusted' in the other O_o I JUST HOPE, OH HOW MUCH, THAT JO WON'T BE THE BOYS' SISTER. PLEASE. PLEASE. I see the show for the Samn'Dean, not SamDeanAndRandomSister, kthnx. Wee, that was good. It was probably the scariest episode since Asylum, or at least for me, since I'm so damn afraid of enclosed, dark spaces.

I watched The Prestige yesterday night. The general word? WOW. It was tricky, and smart and the plot twists were oh so damn awesome. I adored the fact that it's not a linear storyline, it just reveals a lot more in that way, and the costumes, the settings, it was all beautiful. I loved the characters. Both Angier and Borden were so driven and obsessed and mmmm. They were lovely to watch, too. *shifty eyes* That moment when they both finish reading the diaries and realize they've been tricked? OMG LOVE. So awesome. Considering the theme, I was waiting for the prestige of the plot anxiously, and asdlfjalsdjf. I figured out about Angier drowning his doubles (or himself? The original Angier died the first time he used Tesla's machine, right?) since his first performance, but I kept on shuddering anyway, and the ending was just SPOOKY. AND SO DAMN GOOD. I do have to admit, though, that I NEVER thought about twin brothers. I knew there was something going on with Fallon, but I never figured it out. I really should see it again, 'cause in hindsight, it is pretty obvious. My only complaints? Olivia was kinda two dimensional, and for something so important plot-wise, it's never shown how she falls for both Angier and Borden(s?) fall for her. But I guess the movie was kinda long already, so oh well. *sigh*

Wow, that got long O_o

The original Angier died the first time he used Tesla's machine, right? I think so, right? I mean that's never really explained, but at the same time it's a complicated concept to explain. That's why I want to read the book, see if it makes better sense in print. I thought the ending was so creepy also, wow. But how amazing was David Bowie? He completely blew me away.

Yeah, I'd love to read the book too, but dunno, the story felt so cinematographic, if you know what I mean... Let me know if you do read it. :))

OMG I hadn't even realized it was David Bowie!! But yeah, he was really good. Man, how could I not recognize him O_o

Ps, have you seen [livejournal.com profile] jou's drawings? They're awesome. I do hope she keeps on drawing for the Prestige.

I will, I have to buy the book, but I'll probably do that next week. And usually in situations like these, the book is always better than the movie, so we'll see.

Hehe, yeah it's Bowie alright. That was one of the selling points for me, when I saw the preview for the movie.

No, I haven't seen any of her drawings, are they in her journal?

Errr, they're here (http://jou.livejournal.com/167652.html), but I just realized it's in a fandom filter... Friend her if you can, though, she's a great artist.

Wasn't that movie great?! I ordered the book from my store so that my best friend and I can read it. I heard it's a bit different, but just as good as the movie:)

Ooooh, do tell me how it was when you finish it. :)

btw, I'm halfway through 'Cement Garden'. It's... vaguely disturbing O_o And what's worse, my dad started reading him before I did. Now he'll give me looks.
