I was less than 20 mts away from Diego Luna. asldkfasdfj *is dead*

Okay, so the reason:

I went to see this wonderful, beautiful movie called Solo Dios Sabe (Only God Knows) and I loved it to pieces. It's about Dolores, a Brazilian living in San Diego that goes to Tijuana with her friends and meets Damian, who keeps her passport so she can stay for a little while. It starts as a road movie, them going to Mexico City, falling in love and getting to know Mexico in the process (which is despicted beautifuly, as mystic and colorful as it is). Dolores goes back to Brazil when she finds out her grandmother has died, and Damian follows her desperately. From there, the movie goes magical since it starts dealing with both Mexican Santería, extreme Catholicism and Candomblé (no, Anne Rice didn't invent it) and the colors and photography are just gorgeous and hazy and aslfjsdfj worthy. And waaah, the music!! Julieta Venegas singing electro-bossa nova, percussions and increading tempos. Also, the love scenes were both steamy and creative (OMG HONEY ON SKIN), and they show hard R beats NC-17 any time.

I've no idea if it'll be promoted internationally (or at least, in a large scale), but if it is people, you should really, really see it. :))))

Okay, so now on the squeeing: After the film, the director/writer, Diego Luna, Alice Barga (the female lead) and two other producers sat on the stage (this is my universitie's all-purpose theater) and stayed for a great Q&A session. Stupid little me was seated on the FOURTH row, and when the movie ended I went out and when I realized what was happening I could only sit on the stairs by the middle of the room, but I had still a LOVELY, AMAZING VIEW OF MY PLATONIC LOVE OF MY LIFE. (*cough*) Both ther Director and him were quite, quite funny, and he's so cute and easy going and no one in the room could tear their eyes off him *sigh* Too bad he cut his hair, though. And why, oh why did I forget to take my camera???? *weeps*

Ooooh, it does sound awesome, I might try and investigate about it, the same as Santeria, it's all so damn interesting. It starts in English, but only the first ten minutes or so, and then it alternates between Spanish and Portuguese (which sounds so sexy it hurts).

Ah, I didn't know that! If you ever want someone to practice with, I'm available. :)

Ted (the husband) dated a girl from Brazil for a year and a half when we were in high school...he stayed in Brazil for a month and a half while we were in high school, too. He used to have some VERY small knowledge of Portuguese, and YES, it is the sex.
