My iPod just FROZE out of the blue, and the computer doesn't recongize it and oh God, please, PLEASE, PLEASE, SOMONE HELP ME, what can I do???

I had to manually reboot mine the first time I tried to use it. Here's how to do it: put the Hold switch in ON, then back to OFF. Then press MENU and SELECT simultaneously and hold for a bit, and on release the iPod should reboot.

Does this happens often? This is my first iPod ever, and it scared the shit out of me...

Mine does it every once in a while if I'm shuffling through songs too quick, but I haven't had any major issues.
