I helped my dad bake about a bazillion* christmas cookies last night. The house smelled incredible for the longest time, hee.
I saw Avatar today, and sure, it has its faults, but I loved it. Absolutely. Yes, the stand on colonialism, albeit good, smells a bit too much of white guilt, and the story is an archetype done before several times, but it was so alive and vibrant and colorful and lush and lovely, that, well, you can't help but like it. The visuals were honestly stunning, Pandora as a planet was just so incredibly gorgeous, and the Na'vi (AKA BLUE PEOPLE) were rather rad. I really want to see it again! Want to see what the fuzz is all about for the 3D edition, but that'll probably be more expensive, so.
When I told the boy I'd seen it he asked how was that smurfs movie, lol. "they made the smurfs really tall," I said. "Worst remake ever."
*slightly inaccurate. It was only (only!) two kilos worth of cookies. When we bake, we bake.
