So, I was supporting Paraguay. AW. Sorry, Spanish people in my flist, but I like rooting for the underdog. (Argentina doesn't count because they beat us horribly.) So I guess now I'm cheering for Uruguay, because I'd really like a latinamerican team in the final. BUT, I really doubt they'll pass, ha. Ah well. Then again, Ghana deserved to go on more than Uruguay. DECISIONS, DECISIONS.

Lol, wikipedia says that cajeta, our innocent milk candy, can mean vulva in Argentina. AHAHA.

It's sort of fascinating how swear words (grocerías) in Spanish have such a varied meaning along the countries that use it - like, pinche is just a cook's assistant in Spain, and I can remember seeing it used as that in a children's book, and thinking OMG THIS IS SO RUDE as a kid, because it's such a strong swear word in here. Or watching tv in Spain, they use puta madre for EVERYTHING, I remember it being in like, detergent's ads, and it's a DEFINITE no-no here, it's one of the strongest things you could say.

And I guess one of the things that must mystify other countries is the incredibly, completely, and utterly Mexican Güey, (most identified by the always present NO MÁMES WEY), literally a ball-less bull, which has evolved into a weird kind of DUDE. YES, WEYES, WE ARE A STRANGE PEOPLE.
