It's been a crazy day in my city. This morning a huge operative was depleted to arrest some high-up drug dealers, which ended in a big shoot out between them and the army like two blocks away from where I used to live a few years ago. An helicopter even landed on the football pitch of a school nearby, and according to some sources the girls there saw soldiers hoisting a corpse up to the helicopter? But that hasn't been confirmed.

So then the fucking narco retailated by doing 'narcobloqueos', in which they take buses, cars or semis, set them on fire and block important routes to the city and within it. There's been sixteen so far, it's getting under control now but man, was it spooky.

We kept hearing police sirens and helicopters all the time since about 2 at work. I just find it so fucking unfair that these fucking assholes can just go and take control of the city and terrorize us into staying home, scared. This is still a far cry away from the situation in the north of the country, but still. Here's a little video of how things looked like.

You know, I don't dislike drugs on their own. If someone wants to go and shoot up and wreck themselves, well that should be their prerogative, BUT we unfortunately don't live in a vaccum, and this is what the dealing creates. Some asshole teenagers up in the US or in posh neighborhoods in Mexico City are having their bit of pot for fun, and meanwhile people get shot at in the countries that produce that same pot. And it's always the same story - rich people go out decked in diamonds while children have to dig for them in horrible conditions, disgusting men go and sleep with prostitutes and don't even wonder if she's been kidnapped into sex slavery.
