nekare: (Colorful Doctor)
So, I want to try out Welcome to Night Vale because everyone and their mothers is going on about how amazing it is. I have a problem though:

Confession: I don't like audiobooks. Or rather, it's not that I don't like them - it's more like I'm not sure how to handle them. I'm an extremely visual person - if I don't have visual aid for stuff (be it books or classes or radio, etc) I tend to get distracted very easily, and my mind wanders without me really noticing it. I can't even just listen to music if I'm not doing anything else at the same time. The few times I've listened to podfic I've been following the fic at the same time, and that's worked well. Doesn't really work this time though!

Any suggestions on things to do with one's hands when one's listening to stuff? I can't knit, if I draw I focus on the drawing, and puzzle games also suck me in. And my lovely kitten who just walked all over this keyboard and wrote a long line of 1s before buggering off doesn't really like sitting still on my lap for pettings. (She likes her pettings when she wants them, where she wants them, and that's usually on the floor and when I'm doing stuff. CATS. ♥)

Saying that, I bought roller skates today! Because I made the great executive decision some six or something years ago of giving away my old pair because I was 'never going to use them again'. You suck, teenage me. So maybe I can listen to stuff while skating!
