Aw, man, I just finished watching Buffy's S7 finale, Chosen. Perhaps it wasn't the right episode to watch tonight, because I'm crying my eyes out. Oh, oh, it'd been too long since I'd seen it.

Say what you want about, but I fucking love that finale. It was. It was wonderful. All those slayers, oh. *sobs a bit more*

(Also: If there's one thing to love about Angel (the series), is that it made Angel have some sort of sense of humor. He just whined while he was in Buffy. And it was obvious how far he'd come in this ep. Just saying.)

I liked it too. I don't see any other way it could have ended.

Since I watched all Buffy/Angel in a marathon DVD summer, I noticed something about the progression of the two shows:

Buffy:
S1 - Buffy vs. The Master - distant, the usual enemy in these kinds of stories
S2- Buffy vs. Angel - one true love, more personal
S3 - Buffy vs. City Government (killing mayor, blowing up school)
S4 - Buffy vs. the U.S. Government
S5 - Buffy vs. Glory the Goddess
S6 - Buffy vs. Scooby Gang Demons that Have Been Building Up for a While (+ her own death)
which is the last thing to defeat before
S7 - Buffy vs. The First Evil

really cool progression of Big Bads there.

CHOSEN FOREVER!!

I love that finale. Even the exact final moment was perfect. "How's it feel to not be the only one and only anymore?" "What now, Buffy?" OMG I'm getting tears in my eyes just thinking about it. (I'm always happy to find out other people cry at the same things I do- it makes me feel less silly because my roommate is a robot who never cries at anything and always has something bad to say about whatever I do cry at.)

Oh, yes, that little smile Buffy gives, it was such perfect ending, so hopeful. :D :D Have you been reading the comics?

Haha, I'm such a crybaby, I cry a lot at tv and movies, although usually when I'm alone and I can sob without feeling embarassed about it, lol.

I tried keeping up, mostly by mooching off my brother every time I went home because he was buying the comics. I stopped after the one where Faith is sent to Giles to get all fancied up for a mission. See, I don't even remember what else happened besides Faith in a dress and that little in-joke with Ten and Rose in a panel.

I cry at everything too!! I hate holding back, so I just have to bear whatever embarrassment that brings. My mom makes a big deal out of me crying, she's like: Estas llorando? Para que vimos esto si vas a andar llorando?

But she just doesn't like seeing me cry.

THAT FINALE. I think the way it made me feel after watching it was [apart from my little 12 year old heart being broken] was CONTENT. To this day it's still the best finale I've watched & was THE PERFECT ending for that show.

The Angel finale just breaks my soul. I may or may not have refused to watch that episode ever again. I always stop my DVDs at the episode before.

Exactly - there's something so fullfilling about all of them, standing together, and that bright future ahead of them and how Buffy's not alone anymore and how millions of girls are suddenly so much more and that little smile of Buffy's right at the end... oh, so beautiful. I'm loving the comics, but in a way, this is the real finale.

God, I know, I remember I went all OMG WAIT WHAT THAT CAN'T BE IT at the screen, lol. It aired RIGHT after the Buffy finale, too, (and I haven't seen it since, just like I hadn't seen Buffy's since as well), and it sort of burst my happy bubble, hee.

It aired a year after for me & I was all shinyhappy over that whole season because after that trainwreck that was season 4, THAT IS WHAT ANGEL NEEDED. & then tat FINALE. OH GODDDD.

I can't watch Not Fade Away or A Hole In The World. They hurt me far too much -sniffle- Joss Whedon is a bastard for killing off my favourites though [in Angel more than in Buffy. I mean, Angel was a BLOODBATH from the word go - DOYLE *sniff* I loved him - and then the whole way through.]

I really liked the Buffy finale, because it left the door open for so many what if's with the remaining characters.

It did! And yet it had so much closure, what with everyone together and Buffy not being alone anyomre and that little smile she gives at the very last moment. Oh, man. So awesome.

Yeah I agree! There was that sense of closure. And I just loved that after 7 seasons of pain and suffering, Buffy was able to really, truly smile. :)
