LOL.

The best thing the ~epic~ post of epicness over at ONTD has come up with:

5/5/08

DAZZLE DE MAYO

IMAGINE THE SPARKLY GIANT FONT, OKAY? XDDDD

Anyway, yeah, I'd totally forgotten it was cinco de mayo. Mabye because we had SCHOOL when all the other motherfucking schools in the COUNTRY had the day off. For shame, yo, for shame. Anyway, 'tis the aniversary of that time we beat the French and it's all ~somber~ and shit so I honestly don't get why it's celebrated in the US as in YAY TEQUILA DAY. UM. WHAT? In all honesty, we hardly even celebrate it in here - it's a holiday (when certain colleges aren't being DIPSHITS, that is) and a free day aaaaand that's about it. We certainly don't celebrate with tequila, lol.

I am happy to inform, however, that my 10 year old nephew was taught the true meaning of the day (the beating of that French ass). When I was in school, they never taught us anything so, naturally, most people grow up to believe it's the Mexican Independence Day. I shit you not.

Ignorance runs rampant...

Lol, it's not that hard of a stretch, considering Mexicans in the US celebrate 5 de mayo muuuch more than sept. 16, haha.

But it's good to know some kids do get it right. :D
