I just found out that the pastes you can find in Mexico City and/or the central part of the country ARE meant to be the evolution of English Pasties. Created by English miners or something. That then ended up having pepita filling!

MIND: BLOWN.

Another thing that was mind blowing? TOY STORY 3. FUCK, BUT I TEARED UP. KEN DESERVES HIS SPIN-OFF, Y/Y?

Now I want a chicken and mushroom pasty. ON NOM NOM.

LOL my mom's mind about pasties was blown when we were watching some show on the Spanish version Travel Channel about Cornwall. She was all, "Mira son los pastes! De ahí vienen!" And I was all, "hazme unos, porfis."

TOY STORY 3!!!! ;____;

It's so strange! I thought they looked similar, but I have to admit I thought first of Argentinian-style empanadas. HUH. Very random. I've never been THAT big of a fan of pastes because I've mostly only had them in bus stations whenever I go to the DF, but I'm sure they'll be much tastier in proper places. I'm envious if your mom cooks some for you, though!

IT WAS ADORABLE. ♥_____♥
