Well, gramatically, is correct, it only depends on what you're trying to say; 'aman' would be in a romantic way, while 'quieren' could mean in a friendly way as well.
Also, it'd sound better in English, yeah, because saying 'Love' sounds like such a british and hot
and Spike, while it only sounds corny in Spanish, or at least to me. (my parents use 'amor' to call each other ALL THE TIME. I'm used to it, but it still sounds cheesy.)
