Despite taking my car to the mechanic this morning, it wouldn't start this afternoon either. UGH, UGH, UGH. So it's spending the night at the mechanic's as they try and figure out what's wrong with it. UGH, MY BABY, I MISS IT ALREADY. ;-;

Still, there's happiness in this world because HELL YEAHZ, LONG WEEKEND. I really don't know who was it that decided that Day of the Dead should be a holiday, but I'm sure as hell ain't complaining. And my Design Fundaments gave us friday off so I have more time to finish my color cube, yay.

The SPN fic is dooooone, baby. I just need a bit of grammatical help. You guys actually say 'Twenty oh six' to say the year? Or 'Two thousand and six'? Yes, it's important, stfu. Also, would saying 'turn up the volume' be okay? I can't get a straight answer from google. HELP ME, DEAREST FLIST.

My new Calvin and Hobbes collection is beau-tiful. Man, I love this cartoon. Not as much as Mafalda, because that one's smarter, but close. *loves*

Also, I've caught up on Heroes. And a;sldkfjasldjflsdf. I love it. So much. It's tricky and amazing and ooooh, but good characters! I love the way none of them is either good or bad. My favorite's Peter, because he's cute as hell (and the way he believes is just heart warming), but I also like Hiro (HE ROCKS MY SOCKS OFF, OMG), Niki (who sometimes gives me the creeps, and isn't that awesome?) and Claire. Mohinder and Isaac I'm so-so about. Eden annoyed me since the beginning, so I'm hoping she'll get interesting now. Nathan I like because he's such a son of a bitch. Matt I love although for me, he'll always be Eric Weiss. BUT THAT'S A GOOD THING. On Lost's pilot? Yeah, I did scream 'OMG ERIC WEISS HAS GONE UNDERCOVER AS A PILOT AND HAS JUST GOTTEN EATEN!!!

I love how twisted around everything's becoming, how everything's connected and how intriguing it always is. I just. Wow. I loved Hiro from the future. And now I can read fic, yesss. You guys have any recs? Seriously, if you're not watching this, you're seriously missing out.

we say two thousand and six :D And turn up the volume is fine :B People say that a lot.

ALSO have a great Day of the Dead! I know a few people celebrating it, sugar skulls and all, and it sounds like fun :)

I love Calvin and Hobbes, I used to read that in elementary school, only now I understand it.

Hey, you're here!

I used to do sugar skulls exchanges in middle school, it was great, but I haven't had even one this year, it is TEH TRAGEDY. I'd really love to go to a graveyard tomorrow night, since there's plays, and everything, but dunno. :)

Haha, I got that all the time with Mafalda, although it's still hard to figure out exactly what war was going on almost forty years ago XD You have read Mafalda, right? Because if you haven't, you SHOULD. Like whoa.

I usually just say "two thousand six," without the "and." It's a quicker, more conversational way of speaking. If you were speaking formally and/or slowly, then you'd add the "and."

And "turn up the volume" is fine; again, a quicker way is to just say "turn it up!" and people usually know what "it" is referring to.

Hee! Can't wait for fic!

Aww, shoot, I'll have to change that bit... It kinda sounded better with twenty oh six XDD

Lit. phrase is 'Dean sighs and turns up the volume.' Would that be okay? Haha, you're totally my grammar bitch. *cracks whip*

Yeah, that reads just fine. I think that [livejournal.com profile] lyras's way is a bit more British; North Americans would generally say what you're going with, I think. I can be your grammar bitch whenever you want, too. xD

Yeaeeeah, that should be fine :) It's a matter of personal style at that point, I think.

...I prefer to think of it as grammar prostitute--has a bit more prestige to it and all ;)

Agree with the other commenters re "two thousand and six". But I'd say "turn the volume up", rather than the other way round. I am British, though, so maybe that affects things.

Mmm, it does have a nice ring to it... I'll see if it works, thanks. :)

I've heard both "two thousand six" and "two thousand and six" in use.

I've heard both "turn up the volume" and "turn the volume up."

Re: above sentence, I think 'Dean sighs and turns up the volume.' would work loads better than 'Dean sighs and turns the volume up.'

Yeah, I think it sounds better that way as well. *shrug*

Thanks for the help, dear. :)

Eeee, Heroes is bloody fantastic. The plot is driving me insane, in good ways. I love Peter, too; his earnestness! And Nathan has no redeeming characteristics, but that guy's charismatic as hell.

When Claire crashed the car? I totally cheered. :D

Matt = Weiss. Completely. I even call him Weiss, too; can't remember his Heroes name half the time. And I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT THE LOST PILOT! Although, why on earth a producer would kill off Greg Grunberg's character, I have no idea. Bad judgment call. Baaad.

The thing about the Heroes fandom is that there aren't any utterly amazing people writing in it yet, or at least that I've stumbled across. -- Oh, wait, there's one -- anything by [livejournal.com profile] technosage is good.

YOU need to start writing Heroes fic. And maybe I'll join you in support. :D

I knoooow! I adore how Peter is all 'you're my brother! I love you! Even if you're trying to pretend I don't exist half of the time and prefer your campaing over me! But I don't care! Because we're brothers!' *squishes him*

It probably shouldn't be good for his roles to be the SAME, but ughhh, I loved Weiss so much and now it's like 'yaaaay, he's back! A bit more psychic, but back!' XD

Well, I read a fantastic one by [livejournal.com profile] trollprincess the other day - I can't be arsed with links right now (sorry...), but just scroll a bit on her journal and you'll see a monthly fic round up. Thanks for the rec, I'll go check her out. :) Still, six episodes and lots of fic already? Isn't that some kind of record, or something?

Aww, you're too nice. *twirls you around* :)) But yeaaaah, write.

Maybe I'm projecting the Weiss love onto Matt, but I think it's impossible for Greg Grunberg to play someone who isn't immediately lovable. It really is. Even when he's in a suit with a gun, trying to act all hardass, we love him.

I know! The Heroes fandom is so huge and we're barely even into one season. I've heard it had a lot to do with promotion at sci-fi cons and suchlike, but I'm still blown away.

Frak @ Car - that sucks big time, and I hope your battery is not all screwed up.

Calvin & Hobbes? Rock, and rock hard.

Still haven't seen a single episode of Heroes. Far too entrenched in BSG, right now.

Good luck with the car, again.

Ah, it was all screwed up. *sigh* My lovely carrito is back with me now, though, so life's good. *loves her car*

Indeed. One of my favorite comic strips in the entire world.

You really should, it's tricky and wonderful. What's BSG about, anyway? I've heard a lot of flailing about it, but nothing concrete. *scratches head*

Battlestar Galactica is about the battle between spacefaring humans and their former robotic slaves, the Cylons. After the last war, no-one heard anything from the Cylons for 40 years. Then, suddenly, with a surprise strike, they return and wipe out all 12 colonies of mankind. Only the Battlestar Galactica - a remnant of the last war, and so lacking in computer networks that the Cylon can't attack it via electronic warfare - and a rag-tag fleet of merchant ships survive. Now they're going to search for the last, lost colony - Earth.

Under the command of Admiral Adama, the crewmen of the Galactica try their best to protect the few humans who have survived against unsurmountable odds, and what's another problem - the Cylons have humanoid sleeper agents, looking for all accounts like us, and it is not yet known who they are. (Well, some are discovered, but in the beginning? Adama finds it out the hard way.)

Watch it; it's worth it, even (or especially) though it's extremely dark.

Oh, that actually sounds rather interesting! I'm not that into sci-fi shows, but if I'll give it a shot if I stumble into it. :)

How many seasons long is it by now?

There's a great miniseries, and we're in the third season, right now.
And we still have no clue where it's going.

No, no exactamente. Por alguna razon, como que no le veo el slash a esta serie, asi que supongo que me quedare con las que son canon, o me divertire de lo lindo con el gen. :)
