I've just finished reading October breaks our branches by [livejournal.com profile] angelgazing, and it was too lovely for words. People, go read it, like, right now; you won't regret it. S/R, october 1981

So, I've finished [livejournal.com profile] giventofly37's gift, Harry/Ron; which I'd never written before but it still was nice, to say the least (although R/Hr still has my heart) and I should probably try and write more of it. As usual, I didn't manage to remember the actual promt until I was finished, and then I had to squeeze it there somewhere (this is what, the fifth fic I which I have to do the same? so people, don't be angry if your interest is flying in there somewhat forgotten XD). And I tried to make it fluffy, I swear I tried but my fluffy muse is on vacation right now. Sorry!

And since I'm curious: How is it that you people have the inspiration for your writing? A picture? A snippet of conversation? Just what exactly makes your brain go into haywire until you actually hold a pen and write an idea?

EDIT: Wee! I've finished [livejournal.com profile] hexes_jala's Hot Gimmick fic! And it wasn't short-short! (Just remember dear, I've only read the first 10 chapters. don't expect the greatest IC Ryoki ever.)

Oh, don't worry, I've liked it for a while; I've just never written it before.

That's a quote from OotP, right? from the Deparment of Mysteries?

Actually, it's from GoF, right after the Portkey to the World Cup.

Really? Ugh, I should really start re-reading (for the sixth time) both GoF and OotP. I used to be so versed in canon? what went wrong?

Oh, great. I can't wait. I also can't wait to read any of the new R/Hr fics you've written. *Sqeeee* Rocks fandom....

The story above is S/R. Okay, that just sounds interesting. I'm gonna have to go check it out.

He, hopefully it won't be too weird. I'll probably be posting them all the 23rd at night or something.

No problem, my lady; as long as you continue to write such nice fic for us XD

I find that inspiration can come from almost anywhere. :P No help, I know. It's usually a combination of things, but for me, bits of conversation (though late-night conversations usually inspire crack!fic) and music are my biggest inspirations. And I play with ideas and scenes in my head for weeks before I ever put them to paper. And flists are good places to find plot bunnies as well.

How curious, if I get a plot bunny I usually put it to paper immediatly, since if I don't it'll be gone forever. Music is important to me too, but I hardly ever focus on the lyrics (weird, huh?) instead I focus on the mood of the song, and if I have to hear it agan and again well so be it, as long as that atmosphere can be printed in the finished product.

And crack!fic is definitely the better XD (And easiest to be inspired)

i sometimes scribble down bits and pieces of things, like if there's a pairing or an idea i like I write it down (or email it to myself, depending on the situation), or if there are phrases, scenes, that I want to keep just as they are at that moment. But generally I think about it for quite a while before the plot bunny sees daylight.

I'm the same way with music -- there are some lyrics that inspire me, but it's more the mood.

You know what, I adore your new icon.

About the inspiration thing? I totally need a first sentence. A first sentence that feels right. Can't do ANYTHING without a good first sentence, so it can happen that I've got the idea, the time AND the feeling to write a story, but no first sentence, and that's the end of that. *sighs*

Ain't it cute? [livejournal.com profile] lipsofpoison did it. (And I stole it 'cause this whole new Trio obsessed phase of me is so deliciously fun XD)

So that's why your first lines are always so cool and pretty; who would've guessed. I care more about silly details like dust and the ending line, though.

Incredibly cute!

*smiles* Well. I suppose, yeah. But it's really my downfall most of the time, because I just cannot write if I don't have a first sentence I like, and if that is the case I can get, ah, a little desperate and annoyed, and then - rien ne va plus. *sighs* Well but details & the ending line are important, too, so you're not missing anything either. And I like your last lines.

Yay! Someone else likes them XD Ah, I get frustrated all the time too, and then I abandon fics and go and glare at my computer. I'm stubborn like that, almost like when I was eight and I just could not comb my hair into a ponytail and then I would throw the comb to the mirror. I was such a brat...)

And you're online!

Um. I had to go, I'm really sorry. ^^' But it was late and I had to get ready for the reading. ♥

Yeah, by now I have got used to only meeting my friends online in the evening. But it's alright, since I'm doing homework in the afternoon, so I mostly log in when at least one of you is around. :)
