nekare at 12:25am on 16/01/2007I missed the Golden Globes because I was at the theatre tonight, so I was watching the repeating of the red carpet on E, and I got so mad when I hear the hosts (their names escape my mind) saying "Oh, Angelina looked so distant! She looked gorgeous but she must have wanted to be in a third world country feeding kids!" and then they lauged.

And all right, I was watching the show, so that's a bit hypocritical of me, but I least I got respect for the people that actually want to make a difference.
ETA: Since I'm complaining already... PEOPLE, DOING RESEARCH WON'T KILL YOU. I was reading this fic, and it's actually pretty well written and whatnot, but this just BUGGED the hell out of me. The premise? Aztec cursed object. Okay, whatever. Then someone said 'South America' and I started going "Uh-uh," then they said Venezuela, and I went 'WTF.' During the height of the Aztec empire, sure, there were pretty much all over Mexico, but they never crossed the southern border (the Spanish made sure of that), and God forbid, go all over Central America. *shakes head*
It's such a little thing, but I've been studying this stuff in History class pretty much all my life, and it just makes me go *headdesk* because, c'mon, google's your friend, really.

And actually, you are not hypocritical. You have no problem discussing the dresses. You're not dissing other star(let)s who are engaged in some kind of humanitarian workgroup. So, everything's all ok, at least if one takes you as scale.
