I saw Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette today with my dad, and found it incredibly charming. It's not really meant to be historically accurate, but more of an interpretation, which is something that most people (and historians, those stuffy guys) don't seem to get. So, not bestest movie ever, not, but I loved it lots, the way it represents a very human character that doesn't stop being a spoiled brat that doesn't care that much about the people of France. Marie Antioinette was pretty brave near the end of her life, but the movie does a good job of showing her in her more vapid years and her excesses and luxuries. Also, well - it's me. The color palette won me over. *shifty eyes* So yes, the cinemotgraphy was just incredible and the costume department deserves that Oscar completely because yum, but those frocks were gorgeous. I'd been waiting for this movie to come out on theatres since like, a year? How long has it been? And this local artsy theatre that I'd never even heard about randomly decided to show it. o_O Cool, cool.

Oh man, it was so nice to see a decent movie again. (Well, I re-watched Little Miss Sunshine yesterday, but that was on DVD do it doesn't count) I mean, PotC is always a joy to watch, but it's still an action flick, and before that, all I'd seen was Spiderman and Disturbia. Yeah.

This asshole from my school said yesterday that I was 'only dating Gillian because I'd lost a bet'. OH GOD, I'M SO PISSED. I've spoken to him like, twice in my life, what makes him think he has the right to say something like this of me? This is just the way rumors start and well, I wouldn't worry if it was someone else, but Gillian's just the kind of guy who could actually belive it's true, which is wrong in so many levels. Aaaaargh, I'll be yelling at this dude as soon as I see him. *shakes in anger*

Important piece of wisdom: People are stupid.

Ah, rumors suck. Good luck with that; I hope Gil (I like this abbreviation - it reminds me of CSI) is clever enough not to believe things without checking them out.

Aren't they? It still surprised me every time, I don't know why. *sigh*

It doesn't seem like he bought it, but I was all nervous through Saturday because he didn't text me or call me or anything until late at night, hehe.

that guy sounds like an idiot...

I dreamt of you tonight. It was a fucking weird dream. your boyfriend was there, too. I think you and me were... eh, dating. Or something. And then I told you that "Luis" is not only a spanish name but also a German one. Then your boyfriend got pissed.
er, yes, I woke up and thought "what the fuck?"

He sure does... And he's a crap designer, too. Now I won't feel bad for thinking that, though XD

...Okay. o_O Haha, nah, it sounds like an awesome dream. We must've made wonderful dream girlfriends XD

[livejournal.com profile] colourlesshade and I rented Marie Antoinette about a week ago and found it amazing. So pretty, and I love Coppola's sense of perspective when telling the story. <3

Um that guy... I'll beat him up for you, for serious. I had a rumour situation with a guy in the past. Catch it quick or it will get out of control and in my case... crush things before they can even get off the ground.

I am most retarded and lj coded myself instead of [livejournal.com profile] rebekahfair. Blame it on sleep deprivation.

I rock.

I loved it so much, I really want to buy the dvd. Coppola's really good to portray silences, isn't she? That scene when Marie Antoinette is playing with her daughter in the fields reminded me a lot of The Virgin Suicides, but the gambling and cake scenes were so different and oh wow, but the photography director really is amazing.

I saw the guy today and really felt like yelling at him, but Gillian was there, and it would've been really weird...

(Haha, I did have a moment of '...huh?' but then I realized who you were probably talking about XD)

Oh, I loved Marie Antoinette, and not because of the story but because how gorgeous the movie was. It was so pretty! The shoes! The clothes! However, it was a little slow, but the last scene with Antoinette and Louis made me sad. I didn't like the soundtrack though, even though I like New Order, I thought it was just a little too random to have that playing during the movie.

Definitely, I was just looking in awe at all the pretty, pretty dresses and all the colors, oh my (PASTEEEEEELS, YAY and then that scene when she's running through the fields in a white dress, it was so pretty and reminiscent of The Virgin Suicides, wasn't it?). And it had such good shots, too - I think you have one of them iconized, when Marie Antoinette's standing against a wall that pretty much matches her dress?

Mmm, yeah, the music was a bit odd, but I actually didn't mind it that much.

I reaaaally wanted to. But I don't know if I will - I mean, I don't want to start something bigger, or anything, and it'd probably be better if I just let the whole thing die on its own. Still, though, I really wanna hit the fucker. *shakes fist*
