You know what's one of my favorite guilty pleasures? The 1998 Godzilla movie. I KNOW, I KNOW. But it's so BAD that it's kinda GOOD, you know? It's just so LOLTASTIC and stupid and silly and I LOVE it. Um. It was on TV right now and, well, I had nothing better to do, so I saw the last, oh, hour and a half. Er. OMG the special effects, IT BURNS, MY PRECIOUS, IT BURNSSS.

(Maybe it's just that I'm seeing it through my 10 year old self eyes? And believe me, that ten year old? Thought it was AWESOME. Ah, nostalgia, you make us do crazy stuff. Just like, when it came out, I decided I liked Jurassic Park: The Lost World BETTER than the original. Then again, that one DID have a T-REX tearing BUILDINGS down. Which, you know, AWESOME. Don't worry I've since seen the error in my ways. But I do remember that T-Rex fondly.)

ANYWAY. Point is, I love that shitty movie. AND TODAY. Today I discovered that THERE IS A GODZILLA ANIMATED SERIES. In which the last teensy winny ickly Godzilla baby IMPRINTS on Carrie Bradshaw's husband (whose name eludes me, WHATEVER) and helps them FIGHT CRIME. OMG. LA;SDFJLSDFJLSKJFD.

A day that starts with Godzilla? Can't ever go wrong. BECAUSE I SAY SO.

Remember the documental I blabbed a lot about some weeks a go, Life After People? Well I was randomly flicking through channels today and there it was! Dubbed with the original English voices in low volume, as all domcumentaries in here, which sucks, but it was still AWESOME AS HELL and I wanna huggle it and have its babies. Er, I mean. *cough* I made my mom watch it and she was as excited as I was, lol.

And now I feel like reading Last Outpost Of All That Is, which I'm preeeeetty sure was written with said documentary on mind. Oh, the love. ♥

While I had a short time of My Chemical Romance adoration back in the day (about... three years ago? A bit more? Before they hit it big, anyway, and their first, totally unknown, album is waaaay better than their rest, btw), I honestly don't really give a toss about their music anymore. Still, this might interest people in bandom:

I started reading The Umbrella Academy, written by no other than Gerard Way. And, to my delight, it's actually really good! I already had high hopes for it because the beautiful, completely gorgeous covers are done by James Jean (possibly my favorite illustrator), and I know he wouldn't get involved in something that was crap. That, and because I respect dear Mr. Way as an artist, he's pretty decent - all that was left was to check him out as a writer. But, the story is interesting, and the comic is written in this sardonic way that reminds me of Next Wave. Plus, the artwork is wonderful, and it's drawn in a way to match Gerard Way's own art style. It's certainly not perfect, but that's all right.

So yeah, I'm happy with it, and I'm certainly going to read the rest. :) (I'm easily sold, though. The book uses a modified version of Futura in some bits, with the Vs and Ms ending in points, extending past the X line, and that alone makes me all fluttery. Um. What can I say, I'm a typography freak.)

(And now I feel like listening to 'Cubicles'. Years later and I still like that song, lol.)
