Oh God, I fucking hate my insomniac tendencies. I'm not a 100% insomniac, 'cause I do get to sleep in the end, but that's only after hours of rolling around feeling terrible because for some strange reason I'm always at my most emo at those times. Thank goodness, this only happens when I'm in vacation (and hence, not tired of havind done anything at all all day long), because I'd go nuts if it was all year long. I bought some odd homeopathic drops today, let's hope they work.

I watched Ocean's 13 on Thursday, and then watched it again today with my family this time around, lol. In short, it was pretty fantastic - not as charming as the 1st one, but loooots better than the 2nd one. It felt a bit... bare, music-wise, but the 60's styled photograhy made up for it, the same as the characters (oh, but Danny and Rusty are just incredible together, always have been). The twist at the end wasn't as impressive as the one in O11, but sooo much better than the crazy stunt they pulled in O12. Er, not everything is like that here in Mexico, though, promise. (ah, but why do they really have to show the worst of every country in movies?)

And on Friday I watched Ratatouille, and oh my, but what an enchanting movie! It made me smile so much. Brad Bird, man, Disney better keep him. Anyway, lovely animation, and Remy was OMG SO CUTE. Really, imagine that with the candor of a prepubescent twelve-year-old voice and draw hearts and rainbows and unicorns around it and you'll get the way that gorgeous rat makes one feel. Granted, I'm a clean-freak, so there was still that edge, of 'OMG HE'S TOUCHING THE FOOD WITH ALL HIS GERMS, OMG' but mostly, I lauged and giggled and cooed at Remy and made incoherent noises. It's that good. Not a masterpiece, certainly, but quite a success. BUT! I'd only have a meager slice of bread and nutella for breakfast that day, and I swear (and my mom can bear witness), my stomach was doing an awful lot of noise. I came out of there so, so hungry. But so happy.

I started watching Napoleon Dynamite and got bored after half an hour. Does it get any better?

har har har, my brother and I went to a dermatologist today 'cause he's got weird looking spots on his stomach, and in addition to that, the Doctor said he'd had to get a facial, which he's been renuent to do for YEARS and now I'll get and MOCK him, omg it'll be AWESOME.

I was one of those people immune to the charm of Napolean Dynamite :/ My husband kind of liked though.

I don't even want to finish it, it bored me so bad. After all the glorious reviews I'd heard, it was quite dissappointing.

Have you seen it yet? Remy the rat is just too charming for his own good. *melts*

Napoleon Dynamite is a pretty flat movie so if you didn't like it after half an hour...

Well, that doesn't bode well. *sigh*

Yeah, Ocean's 13 was definitely a lot better than 12! I think my favourite parts were the scenes in Mexico, I was pretty much killing myself laughing at the brothers!

I can't wait to see Ratatouille! I heard it was pretty great, so I can't wait to go!

Meh, some people really liked Napoleon Dynamite, but I didn't enjoy it at all. It seemed really slow and unfunny to me. So I guess that isn't any help at all! Heh.

Me too, although there's always that 'omg, people everywhere are going to think that's the only thing in Mexico!' but yeah, that conversation about Zapata about killed me dead XD

Exactly, the pacing is so, so slow, and Napoleon is really, really annoying - I mean, I like comedies with slow pacing (arrested development and the royal tenenbaums come to mind), but that was just too much. *shrug* I honestly don't think I'll be finishing it.

Napoleon Dynamite gets a little better after you get to the part with his brother and his 'online girlfriend.' And the karate scene. It takes a little while for the humor to hit you and then it all just seems hilarious. But if you're not starting to snicker after 45 minutes or so, then you probably just won't get it. It's meant to be funny in that way that *nothing* makes sense... and it's not *supposed* to make sense. You know?

At any rate, Jon Heder is incredibly funny in real life. But the guy who plays his brother is even funnier.

Mmm, it might be the amateur-ish way it's filmed (intentional or not) that keeps putting me off it, but dunno. I guess I'll try and finish it some other time.

You know, I googled his name after my failed attempt at watching ND and went OMG HE'S KINDA HOT HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!? lol.

Oh I wanted to tell you that I finished the first season of Doctor Who, and I'm waiting for the second to come through Netflix:) It's pretty fantastic.

I have no intereste whatsoever to see Napoleon Dynamite. I can't stand that dude.

... yay! A Doctor Who fangirl in training. :) And fantastic indeed! I love Ten better, but I sometimes do miss Nine and his big ears quite a lot *g* It's pretty addicting, though, isn't it? I remember I marathoned through the first season in a couple of days XD

O13 is definitely better than O12, I'm tempted to say it even beats O11 just because there's absolutely no Tess, but maybe that's just me. *g* It's hard to beat the original.

Nope. I don't really know what the big deal was over that movie. My sister and I forced ourselves to sit through the whole thing and it definitely wasn't worth the time.

Haha, yeah, that helped A LOT. But the twist at the end with the swat was just sooooo good that it can't quite top that in my opinion XD

I just had to stop and I haven't tried to see it again yet. It's just so... boring, I don't get the hype over it.
