I've just started re-reading the book, and you know what? For some strange reason, I really want to know what happened to the Dursleys.

I mean, they spent almost a year being hidden by wizards (probably Dedalus and Hestia even had to stay with them? There's no other mention about them in the rest of the book), probably even out of the country - it was probably hell for them. I've never liked them much, but I am rather curious...

In all, I would've prefered if JKR had placed the epilogue some years early, like, describe Harry and Ron in Auror school and Hermione off saving all the world's elves or something and whatever happened to Luna and the rest of the Weasleys and who exactly got to raise Teddy Lupin? I'm guessing Andromeda, but once Harry and Ginny had gotten married, I would've found it natural if Harry kind of, dunno, adopted him, or something, he very much can relate, after all. Er, okay, so not so short after all, I guess.

And now I shall stop talking about Potter for a while. SHOCKING, I KNOW.

Anyway, it's Life on Mars time! On real time telly, even, woot. I've watched up to 2x07 now, and I'm sooooo dreading the finale because omg I don't want it over I really don't. That's why I'm saving it for another couple of days. *bites nails* Oh, and as much as I'm a Sam/Annie shipper (because the cuuuuteness, it burns), I can see the Sam/Gene after 2x07, oh my.

I actually sort of assumed that Bill and Fleur took over watching Teddy (oh god, even the name makes me want to wretch) - something in the way Lupin burst in to tell them, I guess?

Well that would certainly make him dating Bill and Fleur's daughter to sound a hell of a lot creepier... o_O

If it weren't for that, I'd be all up for the idea, I bet they'd make incredible surrogate parents. I also heard someone else say Arthur and Molly could take him in, seeing that most of their children have already moved away and Molly does love to cuddle little orphans. *shrug*

D'oh! I didn't even think about the Potters' cousin being Bill and Fleur's kid. Damn these complicated Wizarding families!

I had wondered about the Dursleys as well. After that chapter, I had kind of convinced myself that they would show up later on, and that Petunia would finally say whatever it is she wanted to say. I'm quite curious too.

Oh, Life on Mars. And Sam/Annie. They are so adorable, it hurts.

If I didn't find the Dursley's so despicable for the most part (I downloaded the audiobook for PoA, er, dunno why, and I'd forgotten how horribly they used to treat Harry - Harry's grown not to care, but seeing them treat like that a 13 year old child is just revolting) I might write fic for it.

I know! The way the look at each other, oh! And I still haven't seen the last episode because that'll mean it's really over and noooo, I don't want it to end. ;___;

i really wished the epilogue had actually TOLD us things. what happened to the ministry people, who was headmaster and minister, what were their jobs, what happened to luna and everyone else. i was so disapointed, hopefully jkr says some things to clear it up. :|

Yeah, it was somewhat of a let down, but at least JKR has stepped up and actually cleared things up, right? I had a blast reading the transcript of her interview. :)

I agree with you on that. The epilogue was just so pointless -- maybe even cowardly of her, she probably did it so the crazy shippers would be satisfied -- but it was just useless. It left me with so many questions! Did McGonagall get the Headmaster position? Did Kingsley get elected to be something more than a temporary Minister? What did the Ministry do with the Malfoys? What did Hermione do with her parents?

It was kind of frustrating, that epilogue. I'd have preferred no epilogue at all. I really hope JK comes out and clears some stuff up.

I asked myself all those questions as well. Especially the one about the Malfoys, I figured that something had to be done to them, especially Lucius.

I know JKR said he weaseled out of prison again, but I do hope he at least spent a couple of years locked up - he's not a nice man, for all that he hated Voldemort as much as the rest of the country in the last book.

Good question! Now I'm curious too!
