Well, I've started reading Twilight, because I want to know why exactly everyone and their mothers are wetting their panties over this Edward fellow.

I've only read the first chapter and it was SO. DUMB. It really reads like a high school mary-sue fic, in which everyone's OMG SO PALE AND GOOOORGEOUS. Um. I do hope it gets better. *shrug* If anything, I'll read it for the lulz, I guess.

oh definitely. the beginning of the book is stupid, and horribly written. it gets better. [and new moon is on a whole different level of writing, i think.]

Mmm, hope so, because so far I don't have much to hope for. *scratches head* But we'll see.

Hahaha. Sorry. :( I should stop commenting until you finish it.

Well, the movies are not even in pre-production yet. I think the idea of the book is a good one, and it can work as a movie is Stephanie Meyer doesn't write the script. Vampires are hot, y'all.

I do like the main character (Edward), but most of all, I like his family. They're cool and ancient and beautiful and dangerous. I like vampires, so that's probably why. Everybody else is so sugar-coated, I can't stand it. Also, these books need a second edit, there's way too much stuff that's bla bla and builds to nothing.

Ok, I'll stop now. Sorry.

Heh, I read them and I thought that it was decent enough for a teen vampire novel... but then everyone started raving over them and I was like... bzuh? It probably doesn't help that I thought Bella is a whiny emo brat and Edward is... er, okay, and I like Jacob better than him (who has a bigger role in the second book, and acts like a real teenage boy). But eh, I'll be reading the third one, just to see how it ends.

OMG YES. To everything. I went trolling around through some Twilight comms yesterday, and pretty much died laughing at how everyone thinks it's OMG TEH SHINY, haha. They're fun books, yes, (mostly because they're pretty easy to moch), but they're nothing out of the ordinary, and there's tons of more books to gush about.

And yes, in the, uh, three pages Jacob is in Twilight I can already see he at least sounds like his age. *sigh*

Don't get your hopes up. The most you can expect is falling for liking Edward Cullen and his family enough to keep you going. :P

I was pleasantly suprised by Twilight - haven't read New Moon yet - but that was probably because my expectations were very, very low. It's decent enough read, as long as the complete Mary-Sue-ness doesn't get to you, but not OMFG brilliant.

It does get better after the first chapter, though.

I liked Twilight a lot, but. I don´t really get the obsession that some people have with the book xDD I mean, there are books WAY better than Twilight and even though I liked it, I thought it was kind of cheesy at some points lol. Specially Bella, she´s too cheesy for me xDDD

Bella wins at the cheesiest person ever. I mean, come on, you've known the dude for like, three months and you're already swearing eternal devotion and blah blah blah? *shakes head*

I had a post almost identical to this one a few months back, as I recall. I think I ended up getting two or three chapters in before the concentrated awfulness of most aspects of the books stopped being funny and started being brain-numbing.

Haha, I finished it, and laughed at every single godawful corny moment XD It's a pretty bad book, but there's so much to mock that it really is priceless. *g*
