I liked the braiding of tone together with color, and the way these bleed over into other senses/associations (lime ice pop, fairy-tale Riding Hood). But I wasn't quite sure at the end if the last sentence was meant to be narration (i.e., was accidentally rather than deliberately italicized)—or was italicized correctly, the protagonist's writing bleeding over into the narration, thus completing your chromatic circle. Apologies if you knew precisely what you were doing, but since it's easy enough to misplace an html tag, I wanted to be clear.

Er, no, that was me fucking up the HTML. *headdesk* Thanks for letting me know, though, I honestly hadn't realized, lol. (that was quite a lovely explanation for it, too)

Thank you! Me and colors have been involved in this quite steamy affair for a long time, and I'm afraid it shows, hee.

Ah, okay! Shall have to re-read now I know how to read the ending.

(that was quite a lovely explanation for it, too)

Years of academia have left me with superior bullshitting skills.
