I went to my favorite bookstore today to buy both Atonement, by Ian McEwan and Pride and Prejudice. They were out of both, but I left them, uh, what's the word... 'saved'? In any case, I paid a bit and they'll tell me when they arrive so I can go get them. So anyway, whoo! Books. Seeing that I got both of those in English and the books on my reading list are The Portrait of Dorian Gray and The Great Gatsby, I though something in Spanish was in order, so I got El Hombre Sentimental by Javier MarĂas. In all: ALE = HAPPY.
I probably shouldn't be spending money when I want to go to the Travis' concert in two weeks time, though...
Thanks to Becoming Jane yesterday, I'm really in the mood for films of epic, well-written romances. Got any recs?
And oh, yeah, would someone mind beta-ing about 1500 words of Life on Mars fic? Pretty please? I haven't finished it yet, but I'm about to do so. Pleeeeease. *bats eyelashes*
I'm still writing that 1969 set Ten/Martha fic, but
sarie_gamgee's birthday present takes precedent, lol.

I think you're looking for "reserved."
umm...I haven't seen Life on Mars yet (blame both my comps' anti.avi-.rar-ishness). While I don't read fic - once I pop, I just can't stop!- I read synopses and provide beta-ing to the cool and needy.

Where should I send it too?

It's about a young woman (Helena Bonham-Carter) who has a secret affair with a young man (Linus Roache, a.k.a my Remus Lupin). He's poor and she doesn't want to lose her place in society. They meet an American woman who is wealthy so they come up with a plan to romance her and then keep her money. It's set in the 1920s, in the UK and Italy. It's one of my favorite movies ever.
