My mom sent me to buy my own Christmas presents. Yeah, the ones she's giving me. I'm all up for it, actually, 'cause it means I get stuff I actually want, and she doesn't have to struggle in the comic store like the lady I saw today asking 'for this comic named... man-ga. You have it?' and after a silence the cashier said something like 'lady, all of those bookcases behind you? They're all manga.' lol, it was funny although I felt bad for the poor lady, not knowing whatever the hell her kid wanted. XD

Anyway, so I got:

Pride and Prejudice
Wuthering Heights
Y: The Last Man - vol.8, Kimono Dragons
Fables - vol.8 Wolves
The Sandman - Endless Nights.

HELL YEAH. Gandhi, my favorite bookstore, is getting a much better English language selection, although it's still mostly classics, woe. (but it has a wonderful collection of latinamerican authors, so I'll forgive it). I've read all of those comics, and have them on my hard drive, but they're all INCREDIBLE and worth every penny. AND NOW MY SANDMAN COLLECTION IS COMPLETE. ZOMG IT'S SO AWESOME. I have all ten volumes and The Dream Hunters and now Endless Nights and eeeh, how exciting. :)

And if anyone says 'oh, but you don't have any of the Lucifer or Death books!' I'll have to smack them. I've already spent about 250 dlls in all of it. ;___;

And I'm not such a bad daughter, promise. I got half of it as a present to myself, but apparently my parents are buying Guitar Hero or something like it to my brother so they said it was okay and they'd pay for everything. WELL ALL RIGHT. ME LIKES. I'm also getting S2 of Supernatural because my mom can't wait to see it, lol. I ♥ my fangirly mom. :)

And speaking of Christmas. (Or Holidays, or whatever. Everyone's Catholic around here so I'm way too used to saying it like that; sorry, non-Christians in my flist). It must be a bit obvious by now, but I'm not sending any card this year. I really wanted to, because I had a lot of fun with them last year, but I just didn't have any time to actually sit and paint everything, and all of my final projects always leave me a bit broke. ;___; So. SORRY. I will try and send more next year. :)

SANDMAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!! OMG. I'm up to book 7, but I haven't read it yet.

I like the story of the lady trying to find comics for her daughter. Makes me smile. :)

Oh man, hurry up, volume 7 is AWESOME. ♥

lol, the cashier looked as she didn't know whether she should laugh or cry, haha. XD (the lady, though, only looked like crying, poor thing)

We totally should! I'm not sure when will I get to read it, though - I'm reading Emma right now and I have the feeling I need something contemporary and in Spanish to detox from all of these classics, haha.

It looks so very pretty on the shelves. *besotted sigh* YOU HAVE A SIGNED COPY SO YOU WIN, THOUGH.

I have yet to read Emma, although I think that Pride and Prejudice was a good first time with Austen. I had a huge time reading Austen when I was younger because I didn't understand her writing, but that was because English was hard for me when I was young. Having said that, I just finished Pride and Prejudice and loved it.

You know, one of my friends wanted to borrow my signed Sandman and I was like, Um, no? I was like, I know it's mean but, I am afraid of what will happen to it. So I just lent him the other ones. But still, to have the whole collection is fun!!

Mmm, in the same way, I read one of Virginia Woolf's books rather too early, and while I did understood all of it, it was really hard for me. I'll have to re-read it sometime.

Is P&P really as romantic as the movie makes it out to be? Because I was under the impression Emma was a romance as well, but so far... not so much on that department, lol.

lol, I can just imagine your 'OMG SACRILEGY' face at the mere suggestion, haha. XD I'd be just as paranoic in your place, though.

Well, P&P becomes romantic about halfway through the book, and at first it was very hard for me to get through it because I was hoping there would be some romance, and then Austen delivers. I actually think the second half is far more romantic than the movie. I just got Emma for Christmas so we'll see how long that one takes to be romantic, hehe.

Heeeeeee!!

Felicidad!)
