Well, I had a pretty boring New Year's eve, mostly because when we got downtown it was deserted so there weren't any fireworks. BOO. I do love me some fireworks.

Favorite stories: five because I'm an attention whore. Um.
Breathing Underwater, Pirates of the Caribbean, Will/Elizabeth.
Months later, I'm still in love with this. For me, this is canon, Elizabeth growing into her own and being awesome and not giving up herself just because she might be pregnant. But mostly, I just loved writing it, coming up with stuff as magical and colorful to equal the movie's atmosphere.
The Art of Surviving, Doctor Who, Ten/Martha.
This was almost too self-indulgent in that it's everything I wish to happen post S3. It also expreses my vast and deep love of Martha and how she basically pwns so very hard. I also loved finally being able to put to paper (er, if metaphorical one) what I think about the Doctor's issues - his martyr complex, and the way he does think everything is about him and how he just needs these humans he picks up, needs the attention so much he's willing to do anything for it. I find Martha/Ten to be somewhat messed up, and I like it just that way.
Keep Walking (Nothing to See Here), Supernatural, gen.
It has apocalypse fic and it features zombies. What's not to love? Nah, honestly, I just love coming up with the rules for this new world, and writing up macabre stuff is just always incredibly fun. Besides, I think this was the first time I got to write stuff from Dean's POV, which made it even more interesting.
Five Times Bella Swan Kissed the Wrong Guy, Twilight, Jacob/Bella, Bella/Others. For one of the suckiest fandoms I've ever seen, and one of the suckiest YA books I've ever read, writing this was still so much of a treat. It was just immensly therapeutic to be able to put in writing all that bothers me about the series, and fix it up subtly. That and it marked the beginning of a new writing style I use only in certain ocassions, and which I really really like. Plus, I do love Jacob, and he was fun to write.
Hysteria, Life on Mars, gen.
One of those fics that you just writewritewrite because you literally cannot stop. It was just thrilling to write, and I ended up being a bit weirded out myself, which was exactly what I was aiming for.
Least favorite: Kinetic, Supernatural, Sam/Dean.
It's not that I don't like it, because I do, it's mainly that this frustrated me to no end while I was writing it because I kept getting stuck. I've never been great with plots, and in this one? It shows.
Biggest surprise: Photographic Proof, Supernatural, gen.
It was only meant to be a silly birthday gift for
javajunkie13, but everyone and their mothers loved it and up to date it's the fic I've gotten the most comments to. o___O (AND they're still coming! Months later!) I do think it's good, and I had so much fun while writing it, but if just baffles me, lol.
Most underappreciated: Tear Me Apart, Supernatural gen.
I find it downright scary, and evil!Sammy is kinda brilliant, but oh well.
Funniest: Yo Ho Ho, And a Bottle of Rum, Supernatural, gen.
SAM AND DEAN AS PIRATES. DISCUSSING STDs. ENOUGH SAID.
Most Depressing: As Red as the Blood on My Hands, Supernatural, gen.
Because ouch. Sam literally kills everyone until it's only him and Dean on a dying world. Ah, the things that make me happy. Hee. I was sort of distracted by the shiny of Doctor Who's S3 final episodes when I was writing this, so part of it does feel forced, but the minute I got into it? it was all YAYZ LET'S WRITE CREEPY STUFF.
Coming up, in 2008: ALIENS SHALL VISIT EARTH. IN BLUE BOXES. AND PROBABLY STEAL ONE OR TWOOR FIVE OR SIX OF OUR WOMENS. SAM AND DEAN WILL STILL LOVE EACH OTHER. A BIT TOO MUCH. SMALL SMALL FANDOMS WILL BATTLE FOR THE AUTHOR'S ATTENTION. ALE SHALL ADD 'ANDs' RANDOMLY AND ALL OVER EVERY SINGLE STORY. AREN'T Y'ALL EXCITED? BLINK AND YOU'LL MISS IT, GUYS.
I still have some movies I want to post about but this post is long enough as it is. And now I'll go because there's original fic waiting to be proofread, yay!

Word. Also, I kinda loved the hell out of that fic, probably for the same reasons you found it a borderline self-indulgence.
