Well, I went to see Jumper tonight, and just like everybody said, it was really really bad but quite entertaining. It has no character development, the pacing is insane, the plot makes no sense whatsoever and neither Hayden Christensen nor Rachel Bilson can act for shit. But! JAMIE BELL. OMG. ASLFJJ. He single-handledly made this movie endurable - Griffin is just the most interesting character in the movie, and he is made of shiny. Yes. Other than that, the special effects were AWESSSSOME and I just. Love the premise.
So I found it very entertaining despite the crapiness, mostly because I kept comparing movie!Griffin to book!Griffin. Davy and Millie I don't want to think about because the movie raped their characters again and again and again and then once more. Remember how I kept on squeeing about how Millie was one of the best written heroines I'd ever seen? Yeah, not in here. >:/
Griffin in the book is also incredibly engaging, and it was such a wonderful book - and I'm not saying that only because Griffin lives in Mexico for two years and loves like crazy this girl named Alejandra. Not at all. *cough* Nah, really, the book is just incredible, and Griffin is so broken and I want to hug him so hard and, in a way, it has a better plot than both Jumper and Reflex. (And Griffin would actually really get along with Davy, seeing he's in such desperate need of a father figure. Davey would be what, 35 or something by now, right?)
In conclusion: READ THE BOOKS. They are made of win and other shiny things. Or, go see it and bask in the adorableness that is Jamie Bell. (which reminds me I really should get on seeing Hallem Foe, mmm.)
