I DO LOVE ME SOME LIVE MUSIC, YES.

I did get to see SPN on Friday (and it was ~awesome~) but I still haven't seen Doctor Who. BUT. It was for a good cause! It was!

Because yesterday was the Coca Cola Zero Fest and it was WONDERFUL. YAY.

I got there at about 3:30 and got out at about 11, so I'm STILL tired, haha, but it was so worth it.

I was late for all but ONE of Metric's songs. NOOOOOO WHYYYY. And I'd bought my ticket as soon as I realized they were coming. ;___; Still, I got to listen to Combat Baby and it was AWESSSSSOME. I really want to see them live again, I hearts Metric so much. ♥

Apparently they were also playing in Mexico City later on the day and then in Coachella today, so I guess that's why they were scheduled so early and had so little air time but still, come on, ONLY SIX SONGS? ;___;

Then I saw Miranda! WOO! The last time I'd seen Miranda! live was in like, 2005? When their second album had JUST come out and NO ONE knew them, haha. So this gig was short, and they only played songs from their latest and second album (and I'm no big fan of either), but it was still SO GOOD. Last time I'd seen them Juli couldn't make it, since she'd just had her baby, but oh, her and Ale are AWESOME on stage together, and Ale Sergi was dressed entirely in HOT PINK and wearing a PASTEL PINK cowboy hat and HAHAH HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF LOL and paraded 'sexily' around XDDD I love that man, he's just hilarious :D :D (AND they covered one of Moderatto's songs HAHAHA. I find that particular song shitty at best, but Miranda is so cool that they managed to MAKE IT AWESOME.)

I really wanted to see Los Dynamite but a friend was hungry. BOO HUNGRY FRIEND. I ALSO really wanted to see The Faint but THEN my friends were thirsty. BOO THIRSTY FRIENDS. I got to listen to 'I dissappear' though, my favorite song of theirs, and I went and danced crazily, so that's all right.

Meanwhile, Panda was on stage, and we were tempted to bo and boo the hell out of it. EW PANDA. Every other band was so good, what the hell was PANDA, THE AWFULLEST BAND IN MEXICO, doing there? EW EW EW. (most of the minors present? were there to see them. We were all like, 'AH, HAY QUE ALEJARNOS DE LOS MOCOSITOS DE PANDA, GUACALA', lol)

AND THEN THERE WAS ZOÉ WOOHOO!! OH MAN, OH MAN. It was so incredibly fantastic. First, it was REALLY REALLY CROWDED (like, all 5000 people in the event, haha), and yet we were like, 15 meters away from the stage! I could SEE León's drippy thunder drawn beneath his eye, EEEH! The crowd was nice, yelling and singing and jumping and ocasionally throwing beer around but it wasn't that messy AND. oh wow. I swear, I had never seen Zoé playing that good. NEVER. And I've seen them three times live. Vinyl and Soñé, oh God, they had extended guitar solos and they both were so gorgeous, incredibly so, and León truly gave his all. It was beautiful, you've no idea how. ♥ ♥ ♥ (they played as the sun was setting, which made it extra poetic. *happy sigh*)

As always, Paula was dedicated to all the girls that had ever had assholes (patánes) as boyfriends and to all said assholes of the world, lol.

I don'r remember the set list exactly but it was something like this:

No me Destruyas - Vinyl - Miel - Solo - Vía Láctea - Peace and Love - Paula - Love - Dead - Soñé - Deja Me Conecto.

I missed Kinky, boo. ;___; And in all honesty, I really would've prefred to go see Kinky instead of the next part. OH WELL.

Then we waited around for A VERY LONG TIME until The Mars Volta came on stage. Even if they played REALLY REALLY WELL and the guy playing the sax was FANTASTIC, I didn't really like this gig. By that time my feet and knees ached and I had a raging headache, made worse by the CLOUDS of dust (I can still fill dust on the back of my throat, true story), the crowd got STUPID and started pushing around (although I had my fun elbowing people, I have to admit), AND these assholes started smoking pot on my left - WTF DUDE, IT'S NOT A RAVE FOR CHRIST'S SAKE. So I was really dizzy and everything hurt and I couldn't breathe properly. PLUS, I'm not a big Volta fan.

SIGH. I didn't say anything, though, because my ex is a RAVING fan, and I still feel guilty about dragging him to last year's Zoé gig in another fest, since he hated that one big, big time, even if he won't say. So I was nice and endured it.

In all though, and skipping the last part, I had a WONDERFUL time, even if I got a bit sunburnt and quite dehydrated, and I'd totally do it again. YAY CONCERTS. CONCERTS ARE AWESOME.

THE END.

ps. Someday (SOMEDAY!) I will go to Glastonbury and Coachella. I WILL, I WILL.
