Well, aside from the fillar arcs (which are put in to give TK time to write moar manga) the anime follows the manga pretty closely. They may add a line, censor something, and (rarely) put the fights in a different sequence, but otherwise things are pretty close. The art up through the Soul Society arc is actually pretty good, but after that they apparently farmed it out to some South Korean orphans :( Especially when they're making Bleach movie. The fillar arcs tend to be the worst, art-wise. and I always download instead of buying
