The happiest of birthdays to
skies_of_honey!! Hope you had a wonderful time, hon. ♥
I finished my 50th book of the year today!! It was The Buddha of Suburbia by Hanif Kureishi, and it was rather fantastic, about a boy of Indian heritage growing up in London in the 70s, and coming to term with his cracked out family and his massively wrong love life. There's so many musicians named (the Sex Pistols having a special appearance, featuring Johnny Rotten called 'that weird carroty-haired kid', haha), it almost feels like a soundtrack. Very recommended.
I kept stalling about the 50th book, though, because as cute as Naomi & Ely's No Kiss List* was, I wanted it to be sort of an ocassion. And having Menage, which is somewhat trashy threesome (m/f/m) erotica (trashy by standars of actually decent books, golden and surprisingly well thought-out by standars of erotica) as the 50th would've been, well, wrong. And then I was reading El paraĆso en la otra esquina by Mario Vargas Llosa but that one actually BORED me (wth, Vargas Llosa is usually awesomecakes), so.
Other than that, I still have a cold and feel rather miserable and crap but my university gave me 10 000 pesos as financial aid for my semester abroad which is rather awesome. Of course, when I think of it as 500 pounds it's not as shiny, but there you go.
*I JUST finished that one, which means I've read 51 books already, yay!

That's awesome that you read 50 books! That was my goal this year as well, but I only got around to reading about 10. That's the least amount of books I've read in years.

Well, there's always next year! I thought it'd be somewhat impossible, if I have to be honest, but then I realized that with the goal in mind I kept reading reading reading, haha.
