I hate how blase people are about long distance relationships. Yes, it's hard. No, I don't want you to tell me how much you miss your bf/gf/whatever in the whole entire two days you've gone without. No, you don't want my insight on it, 'cause that would be me shaking you while saying 'you. know. nothing.' I hate how no one expects us to survive it. I hate how hypocritical I am myself, because only a year ago I would have been saying 'PFT, that NEVER works.' I hate that I need him so much, and I hate the stupid ocean in between us.

Number of times I've been told 'Pues ya sabes, amor de lejos... amor de pendejos' in the past few months? TOO MANY TO COUNT.

Sorry. I'm in a horrible mood, and I need to vent.

You as in annoying people in RL. Y'all have been awesome and I heart you all.

Both of the relationships I've been in have been, at least part of the time, long-distance. And it is absolutely doable. In both cases what eventually broke us up had nothing to do with the long-distance aspect, just the normal relationship stuff that happens, so I'm commenting here to tell you: don't listen to anyone who says it never works. It does! It's awful being apart, but you can absolutely do it. <333

Thanks! That's what annoys me a bit, that I do trust we'll make it, it's people around me that just insist on saying we won't. Like, gee, some support would be nice. But yeah, it's doable, just hard. SIGH.

Long distance relationships tend to be difficult.

But considering that my parents, for the longest time, had one, and are still married after thirty-three years (and happily, at that!)?

I have trust in you both. So, I'm pretty convinced it'll continue to work.

That's the thing, I know we can make it, what annoys me is that people around me continously tell me it won't. Like, dude, I'm the one that knows best about my relationship, right? bah, people.

It's very hard, but don't worry about all those comments, in the end it just sums in what YOU need, and how YOU feel about it.
