Prepubescent punk with a whiny, crooning voice, exploiting/being exploited by the same sexual-innocent-virgin schtick that Disney uses to market the Jonas Brothers to tweens.

I'm so fucking sick of it.

Sorry, you caught me in a really pissy mood. And I'm taking the opportunity to re-channel it in to aggression on untalented tween stars.

I get so annoyed when Disney starlets wave around their stupid promise rings or whatever the fuck they're called. Yeah, because teaching kids to be repressed prudes is not wrong at all. SIGH. Mmm, I've been fortunate not to hear this kid sing, but just his stupid silly face makes me cringe a bit, you know? UGH.

Dude, no, feel free to rant. It's a great way to let out pent up anger, lol.

Who's teaching kids to be repressed? All I got from that promise ring thing was that they wanted to save themselves until they were married. It's their personal choice, what's wrong with that?

It's wrong when it's obviously not their choice, but Disney's. I would very much doubt it if all of their tween starlets had the same opinion on the matter.

And even then I'm not fond of the idea of promise rings. Sex is a very personal issue, there's no reason to announce it publically in an attitude that most times seems to yell out 'well look at me, I'm so pure, not one of the unwashed masses' or something. I don't know, it seems to be almost like a contract, and it reminds me too much of my religious upbringing in which everything's forbidden and wrong and you should be pure pure pure or you'll go to hell. Too close for comfort, I suppose.

Oh I don't know, I don't think it was Disney's choice. Sure, they promoted it and used it as a selling point, but it's something those boys decided for themselves. It was their choice to wait, and it was their choice to decide to take it back when it wasn't relevent for them anymore(ie, them saying they were waiting until marriage, and later changing to when they "fell in love" or whatever). Sex should be personal, but it isn't(atleast not with celebrities). People are always flaunting their crazy sex lives, so why is it so bad if one young group of kids is proud to stay pure for their own personal reasons? I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, I'm just curious.

Mmm, I didn't know they'd taken it back. A bit wishy-washy of them, huh? It bothers me how hypocritical Disney is these days, which them trying to promote their stars as pristine clean. I mean, Vanessa Hudgins was sending nuddie pictures, so out of that it's easy to see it's mostly bullshit. And I think I like people better when flawed, and not trying to sound like saints. *shrug*

Waiting for marriage or not is everyone's prerogative, but it angers me when it's used to sell an 'ideal' people should aspire to. Just as it's not quite right to convince young people they should have sex as soon as they can or they're losers. I don't want anyone to be telling me what I can or can't do with my body. Again, this comes from my crazy religious schooling and how horrible is for people to be saying they have to stick with that they say it's true or it's burning for them. Bah. I quite dislike organized religion, although proper faith I'm down with.

It is definitely wishy-washy, but eh, they're kids.

Disney is just trying to promote people that they think will be good examples to other kids. Honestly though, would you rather a ten year old kid watch Lady Gaga, or something a little more child-friendly, like the Jonas Bros? I know those kids aren't perfect, but atleast they act in a way that's appropriate for children to watch/listen to(atleast in the public eye. What they do in private is their business, or it should be, like you said).

Of course I don't think Disney's intentions are completely pure. Parents are more likely to buy a Miley Cyrus record for their kid than a Britney Spears one, and Disney knows that, so they capitalize on it. And I do agree that's it's weird that they're trying to sell an ideal, as if it's something you can put a price sticker on. But eh, atleast there's a channel that kids can turn to without watching people get hacked to death, or watching people get naked, or other adult type things, ya know?

Hey I've got another question for ya:) What does "proper faith" mean to you? I really like hearing what people believe and they're views on religion and all of that, and I don't think I've ever heard you talk about your opinions on it(atleast not fully). I know this is kind of a loaded question, so if you don't feel like answering it, or if you want to message me some other time or something, that's cool:)

re: what is he famous for, something about singing on youtube and getting a record deal from that. He's, uh... I was going to say 'cute,' but I don't think he is. He's a bland eight-year-old, I mean, sixteen (even though he doesn't look or sound like it). And his name is always a fucking trending topic on Twitter.

That said, I don't hate him. I can't -- I haven't even heard him sing. The universe is doing a good job of hiding his existence from me, which I appreciate.

Ah, all right. You see, that didn't sound as crappy back then when it was Arctic Monkeys getting famous over myspace. This dude... well.That's the thing, he looks like a slow 12 year old girl, how can he be this generation's new sex symbol? ew.

Haven't listened to anything of him either, but I'm sort of going out of my way to avoid it, really.

young dude who sings some stuff that kinda sounds like it should be a girl singing it. on the upside, it isn't particularly terrible. there's a great site, lesbians who look like bieber or something like that, which brings me much laughs. but i also like infectious things.

i saw him on that silent library show once on mtv. all his friends are too old for him. haha

I read his name on a teen magazine here and was convinced he was German... He looked like one of those talentless kids of someone famous.

He's a young teenager that other young teenagers like. I don't see anything wrong with him...he seems to have a decent singing voice and he's cute I guess. I'm not a fan, but I can't talk crap about other people who are fans, because I was obsessed with bands like 'Nsync when I was a teenager. The world's current obsession with the Bieber kid is no different, lol.
