I was looking for hair styling tutorials in youtube (as you do), and out of nowhere I ended up watching this 'apostolic' hairstyle or something, in which all of the comments where about how the bible says women's hair should be 'uncut' and how Jesus loves split ends (??) and how how you will be forgiven for having dared cut your hair before you were lighted by the saintly christianism if you join in.
JUST. WHAT.
This is why I hate organized religion! They might not give a shit about hungry people, but THIS kind of stuff worries them? Help people, don't mind the stupid silly things! UGH. And don't condemn people to hell for stupid shit like having the audacity of wanting short hair! UUUUUGH.
NOW I WANT TO GET A HAIRCUT. JUST TO SPITE PEOPLE.

Thankfully, no one tried to perform an exorcism before I left.

It creeps me out the way some super religious people have such strict clothing codes. Which are usually designed to make women submisive to the men, and how they make them think they're creatures of the devil just for being girls and tempting men. Yeah, because they totally cannot control themselves, right? Fuck it.

And why would you think that Christians don't care about hungry people? There are thousands of religious charity organizations all around the world, and seeing as it's part of our spiritual belief to love and help others in need, most of the Christians(and Catholics, and Jews) that I know are actively involved in all types of charities and outreach programs.
Those people in the video are obviously focusing on insignificant things in order to feel self righteous and judge others, but believe me that's not what true Christianity is about, or what any religions should be about at it's core.
P.S. No body has the ability to condemn someone to hell, so pooh on them for thinking they can, lol!

In my personal experience, I really dislike how the catholic church works, even though I still believe in God or at least in something bigger than us being out there, but I don't want outdated, mean men deciding how I should live my faith. The last time I went to confession this old man pretty much screamed at me about how such a bad person I was for missing mass a few weeks. I was 12. I just don't think organised religion works as such nowadays, if just lends itself to finger pointing, victim-blaiming and higher ups getting rich and having political immunity bought with the hard-won money of people of low means that are the ones that believe the most and in a blinder way, at least in here. The church in here has enough power that it has a lot of weight in state affairs such as gay marriage or adoption, and they very publicly call gay people 'disgusting sinners' and the like.
I'm glad that you've had a good experience with church, but I haven't, and it reflects in my views.
What you said about the charities - yes, and I'm in awe and total agreement of the many, many people that are interested in the welfare of people all over, and those people are usually the ones that give religion (any of them) a good name, but sadly, they're usually not the ones in charge of how the church works, and it's usually the greedy, hypocritical men on the higher ends that are.
Okay, sorry for the long response, but I needed to get it off my chest.

I guess what I was just trying to say is that religion in itself isn't evil, it's just sometimes stupid people like to mess it up for the rest of us. It make me sad that people get turned off from something that is so beautiful and amazing, just because of the few people who get it wrong.
And once again, thank you for a courteous and polite answer. It's not too often that you see people have a civilized discussion about religious views, and I really appreciate it:)
