I hate it when people say San Diego and/or other parts of California have better Mexican food than Mexico. People that say that are obviously twats, and have never tried proper Mexican food.

Ugh, some people are idiots. Mexican food, by definition, is best in Mexico! Er, not that I've sampled it. :)

You should come and try it then! It's worth it. :D

Yeah, it's like I would never say Chinese food is better in here, because I'm quite certain what it's sold here would not resemble proper Chinese cooking that much!

Who the fuck says stupid shit like that? Let me at them! GRRRR!

Having lived all my life on the Tijuana/San Diego border I can only assume whoever says stuff like that means they've been to places like Alberto's and their kind and think that's better in San Diego than in Tijuana. I very much doubt they've actually eaten any authentic Mexican food in their lives.

I've heard if a few times and found it equally annoying each of them. I remember the first time I heard it was in a travel blog by I band I used to like about, uh, ten years go? You know, soppy teenage pop - and the dude was like 'one would think that the best mexican food is in mexico, but no.'

AND I WENT FROTHY AT THE MOUTH. Until you've had at last pozole, stupid dude, you have NOT tried Mexican food.

Yeah, that's the thing, it's just from people being used to burritos covered in yellow cheese called 'authentic'. Bollocks.
