HA! I'm finally done with my Artistic Expresion homework, some odd 60 ctm X 50 meters of kraft paper (the brown, boring thing), all filled with fucking watermarker stripes I don't ever want to see again. *mumbles angrily* Sadly, this isn't everything, since I've still got to do this horrible 4 page essay due monday on 'my own concept of communication'. And whatever my Metodology homework is since I still haven't checked it. *sigh*

I really wanna write, and yet I'm not that inspired. I'm still halfway through my [livejournal.com profile] remixredux fic, since my classes have been mostly practical, and I haven't had time while at home.

So basically, I've been alternating between doing tons and tons of homework and reading cartographer's craft obsessively (OMG thank you for getting me into it, [livejournal.com profile] why_me_why_not!). I can't seem to stop reading it, and I've gone to bed at 2 am for two days now, which was bad yesterday since I woke up at 5. Buuuut, I love it.

I drew fanart yesterday! I drew Harry and Dudley, since I can't seem to be able to draw anything but gen XD I like it loads, but I did it in bond paper, and I really wanted to watercolor it... (I'll probably do it anyway, and you won't be allowed to say anything at the wrinkly paper XD)

Anyway, I'm really sorry if I haven't replied much to your entries this last few days, my dear flist, but I really haven't gotten the time. I have read them, though, and I've got to say I ♥ you all!

I need to get back to Cartographer's Craft. It was a WIP while I was reading it and I lost patience. Of course, I love Stealing Harry like you wouldn't believe, so I know it will be good. But Sam's R/S is so awesome, it's weird to read a story that so isn't them.

Yeah, I kinda keep hoping for at least a hug, or something, but at least it isn't that wrong since it's not Sirius Sirius. But stiiiiiill. Padfoot ♥ Moony forever, as corny as it sounds XD

I loved Stealing Harry, but the first year at Hogwarts kinda-but-not annoyed me. I'm a trio-whore, after all.

Yeah. I didn't read any of the Lacoon's stuff. But SH is probably my favorite R/S getting together story ever.

Not corny at all, dude. I can't stand to read them with anyone else 99% of the time. ;)

Yeah, it was wonderful, and I love the way his Remus is never, ever ever a girl. *beams*

Ugh, yeah. I'm just learning to like Remus/Tonks, but that's only as a second, very second choice.

I love the way Sam writes them. I've read all of this R/S about 10 times each, I swear.

I'm just learning to like Remus/Tonks, but that's only as a second, very second choice.

*gasp* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *cries* I will not read them. Unless it's by an author I absolutely love. I mean, I get that, yes, Remus could love her AND Sirius in his lifetime blah blah blah. But I want him to come BACK and she makes that more difficult.

I kind of dig Remus/Harry. Post-war, of course.

I dunno, I really like Tonks (when she's not acting like a puberty-laden schoolgirl, that is), but yeah, she kinda gets in the way. *sigh* I've just realized I've never written a Bring Back Black story... *ponders*

Really? Crossgeneration shipping always makes me a bit icky, but there are authors that can pull it off sooo nicely. (for expample, did you read [livejournal.com profile] sazzlette's new story? R/S, S/H, R/H. Brilliant, that one)

Well, you need to get on that. And for Merlin's sake, please don't make me cry unless it is in a good way! *so fragile*

Oh! A rec! *bookmarks* I enjoy R/H when it's post-war and Ron and Hermonie are either dead or off somewhere together and Harry is dealing with being alone. Just because I see such parallels between The Trio and the Mauraders and I think that Remus and Harry have so much in common and there is so much that Harry would want to learn from Harry. I feel like they would be the only ones to understand each other in a way.

But sometimes I just like the weird R/S/H porn because they are all really hot in my head. Heee.

*pats you in the head* I'll try, darling, I'll try. Even if it goes agains all of my principles. XDD Haha, I can never make myself cry with my writing, so I don't really know just how sad as story is until random people start needing tissues. :)

Yeah, there's definitely a paralellism with the 'lone surviving' thing, and comfort out of the only person they still know would be quite plausible. Well, that story spands through 3 time frames: MWPP, OotP and uh, post HBP? Oh! and it has breathplay, so beware if you're squicked by that.

HAHA, they're all hot in EVERY FANGIRL'S head in this universe XDDD (and at least Sirius, in JKR's mind too!)

I love Sam's Remus.

And I don't like Remus/Tonks -- except Sam kinda convinced me in CC. *g*

They are! Until my dad goes and scares the hell out of me as he goes 'go to sleep already!' at 2 am XD and then of course, comes the joy of nearly falling asleep in class.

For an "artistic expression" assignment, you don't seem to have really liked it. What are watermarker stripes?

Oh we haven't actually started the class quite yet, we're just doing lines and more lines and more lines with markers to loosen up the hand and get practice. It's annoying as hell, I tell you, but we're starting with colored pencils next week, and that will be cool. :)

I am disappointed in you >:O

Not as such, no. I fucking hate that story :/

gah, rp journal >_>

Really? Why?

(and don't say R/T. that's not a valid excuse)

Sorry, I realised that comment sounded far harsher than I meant it to.

Anyway, it isn't that. I don't think I'd ever use a pairing as an excuse, because I'll read anything if I think it's well-written.

So. Cartographer's Craft. It's been a while since I read any of it so bear with me.

To begin with I find the writing dull, run of the mill, generally very blah.

Secondly the Remus characterisation makes me want to cry. It's just. No.

Thirdly the Tonks characterisation gives me the urge to rip my own teeth out. She's just so utterly off. I can't. Gah.

Fourthly COME ON PEOPLE if you're going to write Sirius/Harry do it properly. The whole appeal of the pairing is the completely beguiling sense of wrong about it, because of the guardian issue and the age gap and a million other tiny things that make it so beautifully complex and utterly loveable (depending on who you are).

Er that's a brief overview of my dislike for it :3

Well I dunno, if I had to chose, it'd be Harry's characterisation the one I don't really like *shrug*

And I've never that attracted to S/H exactly for that wrongness factor, but tell you what: rec me your favorite fic of them. :)

posted by [identity profile] moopylunin.livejournal.com at 03:30am on 10/03/2006
Well yes I don't particurly like Harry either, but he's usually annoying >_>

Yeah I can understand that, it's what makes it such a controversial pairing and why I guess a lot of people don't like it. And um, favourite, ok.

No Happy Memories (http://www.amanuensis1.com/nohappymemories.html) by [livejournal.com profile] amanuensis is just everything this pairing should be, and so well-written

Umbra Nihili (http://cluegirl.livejournal.com/530603.html) by [livejournal.com profile] cluegirl because I cannot possibly put into words how much I love this story. Sirius' characterisation is entirely wonderful, and I cry so much for Remus it's obscene considering how little screentime he has. Long fic but so worth it if the pairing doesn't put you right off :3

The Hollow Wall (http://nimori.livejournal.com/203114.html) by [livejournal.com profile] nimori is also incredible.

And then obviously mine (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=sazzlette&keyword=Sirius/Harry&filter=all) ;D

Haha, at least the icon-boy is cute, so no worries XD (and hey, you play Remus? Cool...)

Weeh, thanks, now I'll have lots of good fic to read over the weekend, and I really have to go and check new pairings out. (and OMG I want to read more of your stuff!)

Ah, late nights spent reading fic. Those are always enjoyable, if somewhat exhausting. I spent the whole morning reading Stealing Harry because of that link. I started it like a year ago but only got to about chapter 8 before I stopped for some reason I can't remember and so I just read the whole thing through this morning. Now I can't get nice!Snape out of my head. :)

I know,! itty little Snape-adoring!Harry is just so cute :)

And yeah, I'm still so very tired... But it was totally worth it XD
