I'm reading Megan Whalen Turner's The Thief, because everyone and their mothers seems to love it. I'm halfway with it, and so far it's been a long camping trip in which everyone eats lots of cheese and bread. Does it get better than that?

It's not bad per se, so far, but nothing seems to have happened so far.

It perks up a lot in the last third or so. But I actually found it mainly worth reading in order to get to the next book in the series The Queen of Attolia.

I thought I already had The Queen of Attolia lying around, so I braved on and finished it (and you're right, it got much better) and then realised I didn't have it after all. Oh well, I'll try and get it soon. :)

The Thief is fun, but it's mainly necessary so you understand what's going on in the second book, The Queen of Attolia, which is AWESOME.

I've finished it now! And was excited about the sequel, and then realised I didn't have it after all, lol. Oh well.

I never read "The Thief" but its sequel "The Queen of Attolia" is amaaazing. (as is King of Attolia)
