Okay, so I'm ten minutes into the first episode of the Vampire Diaries. So how many sort-of-bad episodes I have to get through untill the good stuff starts then?

Two truths that influenced why I never started watching the show in the first place:

1. I find Ian Somerhalder creepy looking. Like, he's hot, but he's so hot in a way that it starts looking unreal and a bit plastic? Yeah.

2. I don't find the other brother hot at all whatsoever. He reminds of me Angel's muppet during S5, in fact. *shrug*

The first episode is horrible. I gave up after that but then people I trusted SWORE it got better and it totally does. I would say if you can get through four of them and still hate it, you will probably never like it.

ETA: I also am not attracted to Stefan that much but he's kind of awesome anyway.

I just finished the pilot! I didn't think it was that horrid, just very, very Twilight v.2 I've heard that a lot, that the firsts eps are crap and I have to be patient, so I just wanted to know just HOW patient I had to be, haha.

He's a bit weird looking, to be honest. I guess I like different kind of boys, lol.

I thought the first three or so eps were laughable, the suddenly -BAM- it picks up the pace like you wouldn't believe and gets pretty amazing. Stick with it, it ends up be a lot of fun.

The first four episodes are not that great, but the fifth is where it starts to improve.

It's odd to hear all this buzz about how ~good~ this show is when I've always seen it as a lame teenage fantasy show. I've seen two eps now and they were SOOOO cheesy, omg. But everyone says after ep. 4 it gets better! So here's hoping.

Stefan is the opposite of my type, physically, but over the course of the show he became one of my favorite characters and somehow I do find him kind of hot now, despite his face.

And Ian Somerhalder looked like a wax figure to me for the longest time. Still kind of does, actually. You're maybe the fourth person who agrees with me! Anyway, he doesn't stop looking that way, but you kind of get used to it.
