A little nitpick about The Walking Dead: it's too quiet. There's moments when it makes you think you accidentally hit mute. I know it's supposed to be ~suspensful~ but, ah, it's not really. I watched an extended version of the pilot and it was especially noticeable in that. It's better at normal episode length though.

Apart from that, I'm liking it. A note though, Lori and Shane slept together ONCE in the comics, in a very desperate and sad way, and she regreted it for a long time, and that's who she is as a character, so seeing her actively persuing the thing with gusto just feels a bit wrong to me, as a reader of the comics. I get that they're going for more ~drama~ but it's not like there's that many female characters at this point, and introducing her as The Cheater is just not very nice.

Anyway, Glenn! Andrea! Token Racist guy is new, and I can tell he's going to annoy the hell out of me. Overall good changes on the 'getting out of Atlanta' thing for the storyline sake. I like the added racial diversity. Zombies were fun, which is a given.

Mostly though, I just CAN'T WAIT for a certain sword-wielding lady to appear! PLZ TO BE SOON. But at the current pace, it just smells like season 2 to me. NOES. She's the most badass lady ever and I want her in the show now. YES. It's a bit weird to be seeing the beginning because serious shit has gone down in the comics, and it's sooo different by now. Still, good.

Rule number one about The Walking Dead: NEVER GET ATTACHED TO ANYONE.

my family's watching it, and I've caught bits of it after a public television station's airing of Sherlock ended. You're right - it's too quiet, especially for a six episode show. It might be so that they don't run out of general storyline from the comic, though, even if they add new things.

I just keep on comparing it to Dead Set, though. Dead Set was just five episodes but it was fast and funny and scary and sad. I guess my attention span's impatient.

I didn't know it was just six episodes! I thought they'd just developed six so far and were waiting for the greenlight to complete the season. AW MAN. In that case at the rate they're going it'll be YEARS until Michonne appears, which is sad. :(

I'd never heard of that show! Just looked it up and it sounds interesting though.

Man, the comics makes me hate humanity. The things we do! Sick, sick, sick. I can't wait to see the shit really hit the fan on the show, especially now that it's been renewed. And I actually like the quiet, most american tv shows are so loud!

Yeah, it's a bit of a tough but worth it read. If it's just 6 episodes though (I thought they were just waiting to be greenlighted for the rest of the season, not that that was it!) it'll take a loooong time until we're on par with some of the biggest arcs of the comic! I really want to see Michonne on screen.
