I can't believe Diana Wynne Jones is gone... I was truly shocked by her death. :(

It's so sad. :( I didn't even know she was ill!

I haven't read many of her books, but I loved what I read (and decided to start Homeward Bounders today). Such a sad loss :(

I haven't read that many either, just the Howl's Moving Castle's books and most of the Chrestomanci series, but they were brilliant. A sad day for children's literature.

She'd stopped chemotherapy more than 6 months ago, honestly I'm surprised she lived as long as she did. I mean, not that I'm not saddened, but at least she's no longer in pain.

I didn't even know she was ill, so it came as complete shock for me. So sad.

Such sad news, but not all that surprising - she'd been ill for a long time :(

I met her once and she was wonderful - one of those warm, funny people who fill a room (her son was my English teacher, and she came to open our school library). I'm comforting myself with the knowledge that she did so many wonderful things with her life.

I didn't know about her being ill, so it was really shocking to me.

That's a lovely story, I'm envious that you got to meet her! And like you said, she inspired a lot of people, and was fantastic at what she did. She will be missed.
