I approve of the puppies! And the intrigue. But you could always do with some more puppies!

Game of Thrones 1x02:

There were more puppies today! I approve. And then of course Lady was killed, which made me tear up. SOB. But Summer was a total badass (and made a good team with Cately, which was a total badass at that moment too, and will be even more when she goes on the quest to find Bran's would-be-assassin!), and Nymeria was HELPING ARYA PACK, OH MY HEART. ♥ Now, if we could only get some Ghost airtime? I mean, Ghost is basically Jon's shadow, and the show needs some Jon cuddling his wolf all the time, ok? yes.

I quite liked the episode. There was a LOT going on, but it didn't feel exactly rushed. There were multiple goodbyes, all of which were excellent and good at showing just how much loving the Stark siblings are, bastard brother or not. Jon saying goodbye to Arya was absolutely lovely.

Joffrey, the little asshole, got SLAPPED multiple times by Tyrion, which I'm sure made the entire fandom rejoice, and then that moment with Tyrion and Jon on their way to the wall was fantastic. Poor angsty Jon, so emo and yet not cuddling his wolf. Get with the times Jon, we want more puppy cuddling.

The show is totally on a mission to making Cersei likable, isn't it? I really wouldn't mind that - Cersei is pretty much a great mass of raw potential, which has been directioned in the complete wrong ways all through the book. In any case, her scene with Catelyn was very good, and I like this new dead baby that they added, it makes her look more human, in a way. After all, she's completely insane about her children, them and Jaime are all that she has ever cared about, and she won't stop at anything for them. And she never wanted Bran dead. Also, BLACK HAIRED BABY, EHHH? Nice one, show.

About DANY. It's harder to know what's up to her without her POV thoughts, but she's coming along better. I liked her second sex scene because she's taking control, and making the best of her situation while gaining some power. I'm not going to spoil things but, people who are not reading the books: this is just the first step of many! So it angers me when people say that the women of this show are weak, because they are all, in their ways, taking control of their lives in the ways allowed to them in a society that is as cruel as theirs. Would I be better off if GRRM had made his fake 'middle ages' a little bit less sexist and faithful to ours? Yes. But let's give credit where credit is due. These ladies are awesome, yo.

I love how Ned Stark is the most moral man in the series, and that his children and wife all follow his same rigid code of conduct (even Arya, in her slightly twisted way) even though it screws them over royally over and over again. And yet they go on, expecting the world to be true and honorable, and trying to change it to what they think it should be. OH STARKS. ♥
