Eh, is there even such a thing as a Peter Pan book? I know it started as a play, but... Oh well, pretend there is. XD (Also, behold the fluff.)
Welcoming Rituals
R/S - Peter Pan - 244 words
“I can’t believe you still have this book, Sirius,” says Remus as he blows on the cover, dust flying everywhere and shining in the dimming sun like the fairy dust that makes Tinkerbell fly in between the well-read pages.
Sirius smiles, takes the book from his hand and opens it randomly, passing his fingers over inky letters that spell magic and adventure, eyes bright. “Peter Pan was the first Muggle book I ever read; I used to hide it behind my dresser.”
They sit on the floor, not caring about the boxes that litter the flat, all of them open and half-filled, the same as the furniture in the room. It’s only their first night in here, and the cheap red wine Remus had brought to celebrate the occasion makes them dizzy as Remus ends up with his head on Sirius’ lap, his forehead being used to hold the book open.
“I once saw the play, with mom. It was great.” Sirius passes Remus the bottle, and his shirt darkens as wine droplets escape his mouth.
“Did you clap at the end?” asks Sirius, interested and honest and everything Remus has always dreamt about.
Remus nuzzles his nose against Sirius’ stomach, listens as the other boy’s breathing goes slightly erratic, slips his cold fingertips just underneath Sirius’ shirt. “Of course I did.”
The book ends up a bit stained at the end, but it still has one of the places of honor at their bookcase.
