Ugh, the afterglow of a good movie just didn't show up.
I never thought the day would come when I would say 'There was TOO MUCH boy-kissing', but it has. *is sad*
I saw this gay mexican movie today, El Cielo Dividido, which, in essence, is not bad. As a short film, I would've loved it. As a written short novel, I would've idolized it. As it is, though, a fucking 2 hours and a half hours long movie, it bored me to tears.
Premise is: boys fall in love in the UNAM, Mexico City's most important university. Boy meets boy at a club, other boy keeps trailing after him like a kicked puppy until you want to grab him and shake him to sense. Second boy meets boy-school janitor, boy uses him as a substitute. Second boy leaves boy, boy is heartbroken (a fucking HOUR late), there is sex. And nudity. And kisses. (Try and read it three times fast!)
Okay, so that's simply enough (kinda...), but the thing is THERE ARE 10 DIALOGUES in the entire thing (I counted), and five of them are omnipresent narrator. As a written story, that premise would've been awesome, but as a movie it just sounds silly and tiring, even when the acting turns to have a more relevant part. Still, I was just ready to burst with the 'SPEAK FOR GOD'S SAKE, SPEAK AND BE DONE WITH IT!!' since they just stared at each other. And waaaah, frustrating *tears out hair* I stayed until the end, but lots of people went before, and I can't exactly blame them. *sigh* And to think there was another movie at 7:30 that would've been better. (Oh well, the sex was really, really hot, so that's at least something.)
Other than that... Nothing, really. I wanted to write something today while in Design Fundaments, but I just wasn't in the mood. Wanted to draw, and again, zero. I bought a new tiny set of chalk-pastels which I know I'll regret since I'll be needing the more oily ones in third semester, and I'll have to murder my teacher if we don't use them in the end. Still have 11 photos to go (T-T I'll probably have to go to the zoo...). Am doing this odd Piet Mondrian inpired cube for Descriptive Geometry, with a rectangular prim tearing through it. I WANT TO WRITE, DAMNIT!
