I finally had enough guts to watch Who. I'd been putting it off because I don't want it to be over and becase everyone was saying it was so awesome. And guess what, IT WAS. ÑALSDJFLSDKJF.

Doctor Who 4x11 – Turn Left: )

I am working on getting The Stolen Eearth right now and asldfjasj so excited!! :D OH, WHO. I LOVE YOU SO.

During the weekend, I saw my baby brother graduate high school, looking all smily and tall in a toga that didn't even reach his ankles and holding up his diploma like it was the darn best sight he'd ever seen. I'm so proud of him. Also this weekend, I grew frustrated over my dad instructing me how to drive as if I hadn't been driving an hour and a half to school every single day for the past two years on my own.

I also made paper flowers and watched Hors de Prix starring Audrey Tautou, which was just unbelievably cute and adorable and funny and feautured the French Riviera as pretty much a third main character in such a beautiful way. One of the best comedies I've seen in a long while, it left me smiling like an idiot.

Mmm, I just had enchiladas Potosinas for dinner. So good. Back then when the holidays just started and I was descending fast and hard into the kind of boredom that fries your brain, I was going to do an entire post about enchiladas, based on the fact that I know like, six types of different enchiladas from only the middle part of the country. Er. Would anyone be interested in the post?

Okay, back in real news: First day of school went okay. Saw my ex, and it was actually fantastic - I think we'll be able to be finally be friends and not be incredibly awkward. My college doesn't have a 'campus' per se - it's divided into centers according to mayors; arts, humanity, health; that sort of stuff. Not even MY center is all in the same place, in my tiny campus there's only architecture and design, and there are other two buildings in which arts and music are imparted, in a completely different part of town. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I only have classes in the arts center, which was new to me, and was lost for a large part of the morning, lol. There's quite a lovely feeling in these both smaller centers, even if the music students are usually prissy and hate designers just in principle, which makes it somewhat... uncomfortable, to have classes in there. (even the TEACHERS hate us, the bastards. o_O)

The class today was Watercolor (which I'm SUPER excited about!). My teacher is incredibly tall and thin, hunched a bit, about 55 years old, light brown hair and fair skin and dressed entirely in earth tones - he looks invisible. No presence whatsoever, just the sort of person you'd look over, and only would look twice because he looks like he's in a sepia photograph. He looks nice, though.

Well, teh boyfriend made a baffled face at my new haircut (it really does look too short now that it's not styled anymore, and I look so much younger with it - and considering that I usually look 16, that's not always a good thing. The last time I had my hair this short I was 10, for Christ's sake), but he was gracious enough not to say anything negative about it, lol.

We watched Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer or whatever it might be named, and while it was very, very silly, it was fun. We're both comic book fans so there was a lot of 'OMG THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN!!' and 'OMG IS GALACTUS A CLOUD NOW?' which, really might have been for the better, considering that I don't even want to imagine what a fat guy the size of a planet would look all dressed in purple armor. *shudders*

I'm going away for the weekend to a family reunion in Ciudad Hidalgo, wherever that might be. I'm... not exactly excited about it, but it's a family duty, and it pisses me off how y dad has been so bitchy about going when he knows it means a lot to mom. *sigh* Anyway, we're leaving early tomorrow.

I'll be posting the PotC fic in a bit (I just got back home), and well, it'd be kinda nice to come back to at least a couple of comments, especially since it's a new fandom for me, and all.

See ya later, guys!

About Narnia and Neil Gaiman's fanfiction in the 'verse and my cousins that won't pick up a book even if you payed them )

So, remix authors have been reveiled and wee, [livejournal.com profile] das_kabinett remixed Companionship Is You (Harry/Ron) and did an amazing work! That story always bothered me because it was pretty much plotless, but she managed to give it a wonderful backstory and THERE'S HARRY AND RON BEING COPS SUPER AURORS THAT WATCH CSI. The story ended up as pure win, and making complete sense. Go read it! Companionship Is You (The Stealing Is A Crime Remix)

I wrote a remix of [livejournal.com profile] ishafel's Vigil, which was hard, because the story was quite rounded up already. In the end, though, I think I ended up with a strong Sam voice, and I do love to write children, so that's good. :) Weirdly enough, I started respecting a lot the original author's style, but near the end it becomes a very me story, i.e. lots and lots of one-liners *g* I'll repost it in here tomorrow, but here's a link, for now: Vigil (The Waiting in the Dark Remix).

Heroes 1x19 - .07% )

Supernatural 2x19 - Folsom Prision Blues )

Doctor Who 3x04 + 3x05 - Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks )

Wow, you guys deserve a prize if you've made it all the way here o_O So, the runway for the costume design I entered was on Friday and OMG I'M SO SHOCKED WE DIDN'T WIN. [/sarcasm] The dress didn't end up looking that bad, not really, but... Anita's the only in the group that can sew, so she did whatever she wanted with the dress and it ended up SPARKLY. Yes, in all caps and bolded. Girl diggs her glitter, I guess. The rest of the team? Not so much. So bah. The runway itself was pretty fun and we laughed a lot and there were some seriously kick ass costumes - one of which was a girl dressed up as a fireman, with only the hose being the entire dress. Yeah, imagine the wolf-whistling XDD And the guy I like showed up, which was nice. :)) I'm just glad it's over, truth to be told.

Tomorrow, I'll bitch about Superman's lameness. Why yes, I know you're all excited about it. *g*

Well, no change yet in the whole 'Let's Get Ale A Decent Schedule' Front. Meh. I had to 'dar de baja' (lit. turn down) my Design class and then the lady that was supposed to help me couldn't do anything at all so I had to get my spot back and then get back later and then it turns out nothing can be done until ALL of the Design II slots are filled and there are three vacants right now, I DON'T KNOW. Thing is, I'm still not in the class I want to be, influence be damned. *sigh* My uncle's supposed to talk to the vice-rector tomorrow, though, let's see if he's luckier than I am. *tears out hair*

Other than that, first day of school was actually pretty good; I got to talk to Leo a lot and he KEPT on asking whether I'd missed him during the holidays, and I got to see most of my college friends (all but Luz and Edith, I think) and it was rather nice over all. And OMG BUT I'D MISSED THAT WONDERFUL ITALIAN RESTAURANT A BLOCK AWAY FROM SCHOOL. MMM.

Er, yes. I also watched the Torchwood finale yesterday. And my, but I really liked it! ) Also, since I never commented for 'Captain Jack Harkness': TOSHIKO RULES. That's it. These last two eps and 'The Keep Killing...' were the best of the entire season.

ANYWAY I MISS THE DOCTOR, IS IT APRIL YET?

Mmm, what else. Have I mentioned that I spent the entire time I was with Leo grinning like an idiot? Because I did. And what the hell does a guy mean when he says 'hey! Your highlights are the color of your eyes!' o_O Mmm, my highlights are red. So unless I'm secretly a rabbit and I've never found out, um, no, they're not.

Well, I had quite the weekend, hence the lack of updating. I went shoe shopping on friday with my mom! I'd been aching to go shop for ages, and I got

these three pairs )

Aren't they beautiful? I just couldn't help myself. (I actually wanted a new, colorful pair of converse, but I saw these ones and went OMG THEY GOTTA BE MINE. They're a bit small, but...) And then I made an ass out of myself when I showed up for a party and called everyone and their mothers 'cause nobody opened the door and realized that the party was A DAY LATER. Yeah. That was ridiculous. *hides*

On Saturday, I went to watch Casino Royale )

Then I went to the actual party I'd tried going on Friday (*HEADDESK*), and it was nice - it was my best friend, Karen's birthday, and most of the high school gang was there. Then, because the party girl demanded it, we went to a salsa club. It was fun, and real entertaining, but I didn't get to dance that much, considering that I'd NEVER danced salsa in my life. But oh well, I'd like to learn. :)

Today I finished my last illustration for graphic desing (which was a BITCH to do), and I got everbody angry with the smell of both the markers and the solvent. Today was the final for the futbol championship, and, lo and behold, my teem won! I don't really care for futbol (er, soccer, for all of you people in the US), but my brother is a MAJOR Chiva fan, so he shouted and cheered and dragged us all to La Minerva, the most representative monument in here, in where all of the people goes to celebrate (and boy, did they celebrate - they put chiva flags (red and white stripes) all along a 15 story high building nearby o_O). It was fun, though, seeing all of the people going around waving flags and dancing and being silly all around *g*

Two or three years ago, I was dragged along with my brother to the birthday party of the little daughters of one of my dad's coworkers. I've known the family all my life and they're nice people but damn are their reunions boring.

So. My brother and I ended up cutting the heads off of the already-beaten-to-death piñatas, spread ketchup all over the neck and hung them up from a goal post, where they glided softly with the breeze in front of a hord of five year old girls dressed in their princesses outfits getting teary eyed at the fate of their dears Cinderella and Snow White.

It was smashing fun. As of yet, we've never been invited to another of those parties again. Mission accomplished.

What's the point of this, you might ask? The other day, while I was driving to school, I saw a piñata head, dangling from a high pedestrian crossing or whatever they're called in English, just, there, a smiley piñata ten metres up in the air. *g* It was awesome, and it brought back so many memories. :))

---

My flamenco performance was real good, even if my brother bitched and bitched about having to endure another one of those. *eyeroll* And I'll be meeting with my closest high school friends for dinner, yay!

Now, a rec: Out of this Darkness by [livejournal.com profile] maygra is, probably, the best fic I've read in weeks. SPN, quasi-gen, AU, in which the world has ended and Sam and Dean struggle to find their place in the new one. This is... wow. Wonderful. One of those fics that are so smart, plot-wise that make you feel little, you know? Read it, flist. It is absolutely brilliant.

The party last night was cool, even if Karen (teh best friend) left early with her boyfriend since she had another party. I looked kinda lame since everyone went overboard with their costumes (with till I upload the picture of the guy that went as Jack Sparrow O_o My, it was awesome) but it was all kinds of fun. We drove to a 7-eleven-alike store to get ice and since I was in the passenger seat (crushed next to another friend XD) everyone was like 'ALE, STEAL THE CAR!!' and I was like 'HELL YEAHZ' but I could hardly reach the pedals and the car just kinda stumbled on for a block until the car owner jumped on the trunk, ice and everything XDDDDDDD Fuck, it was awesome *g*

On friday, I went to see Volver (To Return). I really hadn't expected it to be that good, but my, it certainly was. I'm not that versed in Almodóvar films (the Almodóvar junkie is [livejournal.com profile] onadancefloor, cool girl that she is), but it's one of the best films I've seen of his. The story has so many smart, great twists, along with such great acting and omg the photography was just beautiful. I loved it, really, I did, it was sad in all the right places, funny in others. And woah, I'd forgotten that Penélope Cruz can act! The only other serious movie I's seen her in was in Todo Sobre Mi Madre, by Almodóvar also (I never saw Abre Los Ojos, the original version of Vanilla Sky, by Alejandro Amenabar, which is a shame) and YESSSSS, but she should stick to Spanish. Because for goodness sake, but I hate it when hollywood makes actresses exagerate their accent to sound 'cute' *eyeroll* Another thing, it surprised me how alike the little town was like our own. Really, I could've imagined my great-grandma in there, and it wouldn't have been out of place at all. And that includes the graveyard O_o

I wanna squee about Thursday's SPN and how awesome it was and how much I laughed at Dean's antics (YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT) and how great it was to have the main plot back (although oooh, but the facts are getting somewhat confusing), but I've got loads of homework to do, woe is me, so I'll do it tomorrow. Or when I watch it again. XD

I'm writing Dia de los Muertos SPN fic. FOR REALZ. *headdesk* BUT HEY, CAN'T FORGET ABOUT NOVEMBER THE SECOND, CAN WE? CAN WE?
nekare: (Night Watch)
Long-assed post, since I've a lot to say.

So, thinking the party would be boring as hell (which it was), bought this yellow book with a goofy-looking boy riding a broom on the cover, the words Harry Potter written in white, thin font over it. )

Now, my day in Guanajuato )

I'm confused about this certain boy... )
Eeeep, I'll be surprised if someone actually reads all that O_o

And last, but not least, I missed another date yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] melandry's birthday!! so,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Hope you had an amazing time. :))) And as a present, that drabble I've owed you for ages.

Went looking for tango academies with teh best friend. I love how no matter for how long we haven't seen each other, we're still able to speak so damn easily, and have this actually comfortable silence - even if we're soooo different. But well, it was fun, and boy, I've been wanting to learn tango for ages (senior year of high school, I think). Oh, and there's nothing better than feeling sexy and having men whistle at you all day long. Nothing.

Kent continues to rock my socks off. Even if I don't understand a word XD But whatever. [livejournal.com profile] verbalthing! What does 'Dom Andra' mean? I really like that song. Oh, and I discovered how to get the Diéresis (or whatever it's called on other languages) on my computer: ä. Ain't it pretty?

Finally got to see Nichts Bereuen last night, and ooh, it was good. Not all-time favorite material, like Love in Thoughts is, but good nonetheless. Good acting, good photography, and this ocasional really, really funny moments that left me giggling madly. And Daniel Brühl. Did I mention Daniel Brühl? A nice movie about coming of age, and teenagers and sex.

On more serious news, México right now? It's a fucking circus. The candidate that lost in the elections claims that it was just a scam, and he went on strike on Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico City's, and by proxy, of the entire country, most important avenue. Oh, and he installed joyrides and a plastic grass soccer field for the people camping there. WTF?? Now, his party went and actually went on strike in the actual Legislative Chamber, and President Vicente Fox couldn't give his annual activities report. The President. I mean, really, wtf? This is way out of control - and it was better that he didn't even enter the chamber, the thing looked like violence. *sigh* They say they won't even let him give the 'grito', a tradition from Independence Day in September 15. *shakes head in confusion*
