Ah, homework. It is slaying me. ;___;

I should know better than posting on a Sunday, but I really like this and I want to share it already, hee.

Title: Blindfold
Word Count: 3689
Fandom: The Boondock Saints
Pairing: Connor/Murphy
Summary: Life on the road, life with their father, life with blood on their hands.
Author Notes: In case you've never seen the movie but want to read anyway: Basically, it's about a pair of Irish fraternal twins that drink a lot, smoke a lot, and believe they're on a mission from God to slay evil men. All while touching each other, also a lot. :D :D

I listened to these two songs (one from the soundtrack, one not) on repeat while writing this. You should, too. :)

They tend to each other’s bruises, each other’s wounds, wincing under the flickering light bulb of this month’s, this week’s, this day’s motel bathroom, sitting on the toilet with the twin in turn standing up in front of him. )

Remember that fic about that book no one's ever heard of? Well, here it is. Er. Once reading the introduction though, it's perfectly understandable, and you could even take it as original fiction. I'm not quite sure why I wrote this in English. Especially considering the book is Spanish. Maybe because I'm too lazy to translate and no one would read it in English? Maybe.

Title: And the Blue Sky Above Them
Word Count: 4300
Fandom: Los Bonsáis Gigantes by Lucía Baquedano
Summary: Life in the real world is not as easy for Abril and David as they would've expected. Still, they're free, and that's what matters.
Author Notes: I've been obsessed about this book since I was a child, and the ending is so open that I always wanted to know just what happened afterwards. Then this idea attacked me and wouldn't let go. So this is basically my way of coming to terms with the story, and creating my own 'canon' about it. I dunno, I kinda like it.

All you need to know about the book it's based on in one paragraph )

They’re driven to Paris the moment they get off the boat. They’re news, suddenly, these castaways, these lost children, and their faces are everywhere. )

It appears that I'll have to use that horrible 'Cortina' code if I wanna crosspost this. Ew. Oh well. As I was telling [livejournal.com profile] kyasuriin, I should probably name it 'pantone #3984 Cortina' for the lols. XD

¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños, [livejournal.com profile] sarie_gamgee!!

Perdón que haya tardado tanto en darte tu regalito pero espero que te guste de todos modos. ♥

It somehow helps to know how the series ends before going in, but there are no spoilers whatsoever within the story.

Title: Hysteria
Word Count: 1800
Spoilers: Season 1, to be safe.
Author Notes: Basically, I wanted to take all the 'weird' elements in the series' atmosphere and oversaturate a story with them. This, of course, made it just a joy to write. Betaed by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] chrryblssmninja. Written for [livejournal.com profile] sarie_gamgee's birthday. ♥

The fifth victim is Sam’s first kiss, thirteen and green-eyed and still wearing that blue cardigan... )

I have commited RPS. I am so, so sorry. *hangs head in shame*

(Except I'm totally not, because it brought a lot of lols to my life, hee. Anyway, this thing just jumped at me while I was having a shower and refused to let go. No, I don't really get my writing patterns either, not really.)

Title: Dreaming Awake
Word Count: 835
Pairing: Pete/Carl
Author Notes: As if you needed this to prove how much I fucking love the Libs. Haha. Unbetaed because it's just a short drabble and I'm lazy like that. Set on the day they recorded 'A Day in the Life'.

They find themselves breathing in tune, talking in song as they hum bits of songs they once started together and never finished... )
nekare: (The Libertines)
My apologies, people. I wrote Twilight fic. And even worse, I wrote Jacob/Bella and Bella/A Bunch of Other People fic that's likely to offend half of the fandom. Huh. Good thing I've never cared about that stuff, right? XD Anyway, I wrote this all in one sitting, and I swear, I'd never written something this long in this short a time. o_O But I really wanted to, dunno, be done with it and now I can be freeeee of these books. Or something. *cough*

Title: Five Times Bella Swan Kissed the Wrong Guy
Word Count: 2100
Fandom/Pairing: Twilight, Jacob/Bella, Bella/Others
Warnings: Spoilers for Eclipse.
Author Notes: Finally, a fic to break my dry spell. Betaed by the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] pink_faerie81. :)

The day is almost warm, and you tilt your face towards the sun, hungry for even the meekest ray of light after months of Forks' ever present rain, and the salty breeze tickles at your nose... )

It's done! Wow, it's been such a long, but satisfying time writing this. It might have started as a gift, but I ended up writing this as a way to come to terms with the movie's ending. Seeing that I no longer want to hurt someone over it, I rather think it worked, lol.

Title: Breathing Underwater
Word Count: 4500 Words
Pairing: Will/Elizabeth
Summary: In the end, ten years aren’t actually all that much. (Spoilers for AWE and the scene after the credits)
Author Notes: Written for the incredible [livejournal.com profile] rebekahfair and [livejournal.com profile] colourlesshade, who deserve every word of this for the simple fact of their awesomeness. Much, much thanks to my beta, [livejournal.com profile] javajunkie13, who did a great job.

She throws hundreds of bottles into the sea over the years. She always gets a response, sooner or later... )

I Finally watched (and re-watched) Dnevnoi Dozor (Day Watch). Woot, it was le awesome! I think I still like Nochnoy Dozor better, but ultimately, I think they're meant to be watched together - it certainly makes more sense that way, and the ending makes a nice, circular way of and end rather than feeling anticlimatic. The pace is a bit slower than its predecessor, but the tension's still there, and the characters continue to be well developed and nothing short of awesome. The gloom wasn't as awe worthy as it was in Nochnoy Dozor, though, which is sad ;__; But one of the last sequences is so well done that it more than makes up for it. It's been too long since I last watched Night Watch, though - I didn't remember who Svetlana was until a loooong time into the movie XD Anton continues to rock my socks. Yegor continues to creep the fuck out of me. Olga is still the coolest thing ever. I very much grieved the loss of teh kewl subtitles (you know, the ones that appeared and dissappeared randomly and bled? Those), thoguh, because omg, but those were the most awful subtitles I've ever seen ("Until we finded the muderings"? WTF???). *sigh* Still, so very good. Re-watching it made me get soooo many things I've missed, which was nice.

Anyway, my laptop's CD drive is still acting wonky - for every three minutes of steady picture, there was a minute of odd noise and slow motion which made it, God, so damn frustrating to watch.

Okay, the rest of this summary meme, the previous summaries being in here.

Thanks to the goodness of both [livejournal.com profile] jeanne_dark and [livejournal.com profile] teffers, I'm all caught up on Runaways now.

While it certainly is quite fresh and new, it could do with a lot of work. The characters are a bit to stereotypical, but for the most part, they're quite well developed (the exception being someone I rant about in the cut), and interesting. Still, the story's enthralling (I stayed up until 3AM last night because I had to finish it), and for the most part, the writing's decent.

The art goes from BRILLIANT to meh to decent to good, something that my inner manga-freak is still having trouble to accept. I do have to say that I LOVE the ways mouths are drawn in this. It creates quite a range of expressions, and it looks loooovely. Chase's my favorite Runaway, dunno why, maybe because he's the only one that doesn't really fit in the group, the only 'normal' one, and yet he doesn't let it get him down. Gert is awesome. Too awesome. And so is her pet. Karolina may be emo sometimes, but her flashy flashy looks make up for it XD Molly is a sweetheart.

SPOILERS! ) I was quite tempted to buy both of the volumes today at the comic store, but I'd already gotten The Sandman's 8th volume, Stardust's graphic novel (I only had the book before), Fables vol 1 and xxxHolic's 7th tankubon, sooo. My budget was running kinda low already *g*

Long-assed post, since I've a lot to say.

So, thinking the party would be boring as hell (which it was), bought this yellow book with a goofy-looking boy riding a broom on the cover, the words Harry Potter written in white, thin font over it. )

Now, my day in Guanajuato )

I'm confused about this certain boy... )
Eeeep, I'll be surprised if someone actually reads all that O_o
