So, I'll be in Chicago on holiday for the last week of June! Is there anything I just HAVE to see while I'm there? Or any food I absolutely have to try? I'm SUPPOSED to be on a diet, but what the hell, I'll have pizza anyway! :D

I was half convinced I was gonna have to quit my job to go because technically I still don't qualify for holiday time, but they said I could take the days off, yay! So I'll still be employed when I get back, haha.

Anyway, was Legend of Korra awesome today or WHAT?? To be fair though, every single episode has been made of huge amounts of win and love and amazingness. ♥ My love for Team Avatar (!!!) was already there, but every week I love Lin and Tenzin more. And now I ship them. SIGH. Ah well.

I've been back from Ireland since Thursday, but I've been too busy to update. In any case, I had a wonderful time, it was really awesome. :D

There was a TARDIS right in front of Belfast's City Hall last saturday, and I went a bit OMG LULZ, WHAT until I realized it was Who day, haha. That's some seriously awesome publicity stunt, hee. Though I'm ashamed to say I haven't even watched the Christmas special... ER.

Am in Bath, which is rather gorgeous, especially as it was sunny and lovely today. London was smashing, of course, even though I wasn't feeling all that well tummy-wise (ah, body of mine, why do you do this to me?), and Salisbury was pretty but really, a day in there is more than enough, and we ended up going to boring as fuck museums 'cause there wasn't anything better to do. But overall it's been rather fantastic, yayz. :D

Tomorrow I'm off for Cardiff in the afternoon, wherein I shall take a picture in a certain slab of pavement because damnit if I won't be a proper fangirl.

And now I shall, dunno, go and look at lolcats, 'cause I had to pay for extra internet minutes as I didn't have any 50p coins, boo.

Hiiii, I'm back, you guys. :3 ( I shopped like my life depended on it and spent like crazy and now I have no moneys left but it was pretty awesome over all. )

2008 was a good year, over all. Not magnificent, and actually it was sort of exhausting, but I can't really complain. Now, the stats:

Bought a load of movies today, yay! I got V for Vendetta, Memoirs of a Geisha, Crash (well, that's my dad's...), Hidden Dragon Crouching Tiger and Amelie since a friend wants it for her birthday. Watch me abuse my parent's money, hehe. (Bah, they were on sale.)

I watched Sympathy For Lady Vengeance today, and al;sdfalsdfljsdf, it's such a good movie. The visual aspect in this one, as pretty much all of Asian films, is just gorgeous, the lights and photography all impecable. The plot is really well developed, but oh, is it chilling. It's a woman hell bent on getting her revenge, after having confessed to murder to save her daughter's life, and guh. Raw, and frightening and gory and really, really wrong. It was still one hell of a movie, though.

I'm going to Guanajuato tomorrow, to the Cervantino (a month-long celebration that was originally a tribute to Cervantes, and has downgraded to be a kind of spring break to the Mexican youth. *sigh*), since some singer from Belgium is coming and my dad freaked out and got tickets for all of us. Huh. So we'll be doing eight hours on the road. To listen to someone I'd never heard of before. *sigh* And I have early class on monday...

I'll be in New York from the evening of Friday the 21st to the morning of the 26th. schwarzbrille, is there any way we could meet? (And my family, because they're paying for the trip and I can't tell them to bugger off ;-;) Also, do you mind if I ask you some bothersome turist-y questions?

Wee, I'm so excited about it! The only downside point is that Zoé will be having a concert in here on the 27th, and I don't think I'll have the money to go right after the trip...

So I loved it, in all it's sadness and depresive-ness (that is so a word, stfu.). DAMN YOU RUSTY. Sorry, had to get that out. I can't believe it's done, and it's OVER. BUAH. And no more Doctor until Christmas, too, that's too depressing. I'll just have to re-watch both sasons over and over again. ;-;

I've been reading Sirius/James fic all afternoon long. *headdesk* In case you're interested, I've added quite a lot of them in my memories (I even created a 'folder' for them!). The angst pretty much rocks, oh yes.

I'm sooo behind on my dogdaysofsummer reading, though - I haven't read any today, guh. I also haven't finished the novel-length H/D fic I started reading yesterday, because two kicks away from finding each other, BAM, and they're suddenly so horny for each other. I hate that in long fics, especially considering it's post HBP. *eyeroll*

About the mayor reclist, I think it's amazing - I've been reading wonderful fics thanks to it all day long. It is kinda strange, though, that some fics that I consider THE fics aren't listed - for example, mysid's Going Back to Being Friends saga, which was both the first slash and the first R/S story I ever read, and the one that made me love it to pieces. *shrug* Fandom's fickle like that, I guess. And I'd love you forever if you guys could go and second me in here, I'd love to end up in the list.

Anyway, does anyone know of cheap things to see/do in New York? Because if things go well - and I'm crossing my fingers - I could be going there with my family the last week of July. *hopes*
