I went ice-skating today! It was awessssome. I absolutely love ice-skating, but I hardly ever get to do it, which is sad. It started snowing a bit while we were in the rink, which was a bit surreal, and it's pretty much the only place in Leeds that still has small mountains of snow surrounding it, which is probably in purpose - it works a hell of a lot as advertising, haha.

I have just seen the trailer for the new Torchwood episodes, and I have to say it looks promising. ( one line spoilers ) It sound remarkably like a Who plot - Torchwood plots tend to be more... loltastic, say. Am not as excited with the thought of not actually watching it on tv - yeah, yeah, iplayer and everything, but. Still. Aaaah, I miss TV. Like, even back home I didn't watch that much tv, but it's a good thing to do in the afternoons when you have nothing to do and want your brain to shut down for a while (the perfect remedy is watching The Girls Next Door or something like it. It's incredibly trashy, yes, but incredibly entertaining as well, lol.)

One of my flatmates reminds me so much of Eve Myles. Which is weird, as she is Finnish. Huh.

Gossip Girl this week was incredibly boring Y/Y? Go back to being deliciously evil and sexy and Chuck/Blair-filled, show, PLZ PLZ. Pretty much, the shows I'm enjoying the most right now is HIMYM (Barneeeeey) and Fringe - I never hear any squee for Fringe in LJ but it's SO GOOD. Like, 1st season of Alias good. I've heard so many comments on how Lost is shiny again and I SORT of want to go back to it, but... S3 confused the hell out of me, yo. Before I stopped watching, that is. I haven't seen a single episode of Heroes for like five or six months. I don't even miss it, which is sad. I do mis S1, though. I'll force my mom to watch my DVDs with me during the summer.

JUST. WHAT. I MEAN, REALLY, WHAT? I. NOOOOO. MY GOD NO.

I mean, that was fucking beautiful, but NO. PLEASE NO. THEY'VE RETCONNED WORSE, HAVEN'T THEY? SURELY THEY CAN DO IT AGAIN?

*goes off to, dunno, despair, somewhere else*

In other news, I'm writing about a Tiny Genious Psycopath. That kisses himself. Um. Pronouns are bastards, by the way.

Okay, now that Torchwood is actually good, I have high hopes (HIGH HOPES, YOU HEAR ME?) that Doctor Who will blow us all away.

Because if they managed to turn one of the most ridiculous shows ever into a proper sci-fi show with added shiny, then, then they can do anything.

So yes. I'll be highly disappointed if the Doctor floats again or some other crap like that. Very, very disappointed.

Torchwood 2x11 - Adrift: Oh. Oh. Oh wow. Just like everyone else said, it was good. Very, very good, in fact. It was quiet, understated, something that Torchwood never is. It was also very nicely paced, and it was emotive without being melodramatic. Sure, it's TW, so there's still some WTF moments, but overall, I'm very pleased. ( short spoilery comments )

Torchwood 2x10 - From Out of the Rain: I finally got to see this ep, and was so utterly pleasantly surprised by it. It's still Torchwood so it's got that rubbishness about it, but overall it was rather good, even if the ending was a bit week. But, oh, the love! ( spoilerzz ) But still! The love!

And now I'm off to watch the latest ep, which apparently is made of awesome. Mmm...

I'm finally catching up with my shows!

Ashes to Ashes 1x04 was really good - the show is finally getting its act together, and it shows. ♥

Then I saw Torchwood 2x09 - Something Borrowed and it was, surprisingly also pretty decent. Yucky Gwen/Jack aside (which burns with the awfulness, baby), everyone got to be competent and smart(ish) and TOSH WAS MADE OF AWESOME. YES. Just like Rhys. But when has Rhys not being awesome?

And now I'm off to wacth more Ashes to Ashes, yay. :)

(an in another news: I'm sort of bitter at myself because I didn't get to see ONE SINGLE MOVIE in the international film festival, argh. Last year I went to see two and the one before three, tsk tsk, me.)

I need a new show to mock now that Torchwood doesn't suck that much anymore. ;____;
