I need a new show to mock now that Torchwood doesn't suck that much anymore. ;____;
Torchwood 2x08 - A Day in the Death: Surprisingly well written and poignant. The score helped loads, it was quite beautiful. I mean, the plot still made no sense whatsoever, but I didn't care that much about that, really, not with little jewels like Martha and Owen interacting and Owen replacing Ianto as the coffee boy (lol) and the lovely tale of Maggie's on the rooftop alongside with the alien message that sounds suspiciously as a whale. But of course it isn't. Because it is Alien, you see, not at all like a whale. Nuh-uh.
So yes, I liked it and though I'm sad to see Martha go (for she is fantastic, yes), I'm just over all pleased with the serial. We do get to keep zombie!Owen, in the end, which is like. ;askdfjla;skj. So awesome. AND now I like Owen which I NEVER thought could be possible. I KNOW. I KNOW.

siiiigh, i was sadface to see Marhta leave. but her little stint on the show made me happy so i can deal with it! :D zombies always make it better, btw.

I have the suspicion it was Martha's appearance that made the show Better. Because she makes everything she touches shiny, yes.

I'm so pissed with this show right now. What a way to waste Martha's presence with not one but TWO episodes centered on Owen, giving her less lines than freaking Ianto. NOT ON.

Also, I am excited about the role-reversal with Ianto - I want to see Owen handing Jack his (horrible) morning coffee with an unpleasant comment, moping when he gets left out of the cool missions, pointedly refusing to do the paperwork and patching them up after alien encounters with a scowl and a lot of I-told-you-sos. But mostly, I just want to see the return of badass field agent Ianto, ala Meat. For all he claimed to dislike dangerous situations in Countryside, he's all fierce and dangerous when they hurt his team AND HOW HOT DOES HE LOOK LIKE THAT WHOA. *fans self*

I'm sooo looking forward for kickass!Ianto, and shall be forever disappointed if he turns out he was ALSO the coffeboy at Torchwood 1. Like, I've always excused his blandness in S1 with this idea in my mind that he was sort of Torchwood's SUPERSPY or something and then he just said 'sod it' and started bringing people coffee out of his own volition. Yeah. My brain is weird.
And coffee boy!Owen will be EVEN MORE HILARIOUS. HEE.
