“Uh, what is this?” asked Remus, staring at the twisted, dark pastry between Ronald’s fingers. The time-traveling red-head that kept calling James ‘Harry’ (funny little name) was so, so incredibly weird, and therefore, he had been practically adopted by both James and Sirius.

“Don’t you know them? It’s a ho-ho,” said Ronald, staring at the curly thing with an expression akin to worship. “It is sweet and wonderful and downright intoxicating.” He licked his lips. Remus decided to stay away from him in the future (uh, present future. Whatever).

“Can I try it?” said Sirius, extending his index finger as if he was going to poke the so-called ho-ho, as Peter stared at it with a frown.

Ronald suddenly snatched the ho-ho away, close to his body as if protecting an infant. “MINE!” he yelled, eyes narrowed. “Go get your own!”

Sirius stole Ronald’s small bag of ho-hos that night.

Remus liked them quite a lot, surprisingly, the chocolate coating his fingers and the cream melting in his mouth; but he found he liked the sweet taste better when it was coming from Sirius’ lips.
