Can you actually say put out a cigarette?

I can't seem to remember right now and it's a big part of a drabble. Help me? *puppy face*

The trip was lovely! I had a great time, even tho it was overcast a bit. I've been meaning to write up an entry, but work is killing me since I missed a week. Did you get my postcard yet?

Nope, but considering our mail, I'm not really suprised XD Augh, it's overcast in there? I'm starting to think I'll never see clouds back in here. Hehe, there was a mild hurricane the only time I've been to Cancun, and it was raining the entire trip to Xcaret *g*

Yeah, it was overcast all but two days we were there, one of which downpoured and the other the sun was finally shining. I still got a tan though. That wasn't hard because I am so pale.

Yup, "put out" is perfectly fine. Especially if it's said in the context of someone saying "Put out that cigarette," or "Put that out," because they're upset that it's being smoked.

It's basically the only way we would stay that... unless you "stubbed it out," which isn't really used in common speech, but might be a fun, original way to say it. And the meaning would still get across.

Ah, I've rambled on for too long again.

PS: My friend Allyson's friend Suzie, it turns out, is actually from Guadalajara. She lives in Houston right now (Allyson lived in Houston until she was 13, when she moved to Cincy). I thought that was pretty crazy, haha. Apparently one of Suzie's parents is Mexican and the other is some other nationality? I don't know, Allyson was confused, and thus, so am I. I know it's a big city, but still -- small world! :-D

Oooh, goodie, I just couldn't remember, and I was trying to go with 'turn off', but it sounded odd...

Haha, small world indeed! Now you have someone to track down and force to go on vacation with you, under the pretense of 'visitng relatives' XD
