"Why is the rum always gone?"
Okay, I guess it's time for a real entry.
My grandma's in the hospital. We didn't find out until yesterday, since one of my uncles was out of town as well and the other one is like, afraid of cell phones, or something. The signal wouldn't have gotten to the States anyway. I haven't gone to see her yet, but she's all right, she only needed an IV to get a bit of strenght back. She should be out in a couple of days, God be willing.
It's nice to be home, although I never feel as alive as when traveling. Still, having lots of fanfic to read and go to bed at 4 am and waking up at 12:30 it's ALL kinds of wonderful. AND having my lovely bed back.
I finally got to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest yesterday. OMG It's all kinds of wonderful. They really outdid themselves with the sceneries - it's all so atmospheric, you know? You can almost feel the heat and the water and oh yes, yum. The plot... Was kinda hazy. The Flying Dutchman is such a lovely story, and it could have been used MUCH better than and with LESS seashells. I understand they want to show off their pretty graphics, but puh-lease. It could have been worse, though, so whatever. Jack... is Jack. Wonderful, intriguing, limp-wristed Jack. He's much more morally ambigous in this one, though, especially after the first part ending (in which the three of them seemed so BFF). Elizabeth got a lot of character development (Will didn't, because it's Orlando Bloom and the boy can't act for shit. He's still pretty, though.), although her 'crush' on Jack is driving me up the wall. It's either her with Will or them in a COMPLETE threesome or nothing for me. (But yeaaaah, it was hot.) Oh God it was so FUNNY!! I kept on laughing, and yet, there are really gruesome parts that are definitely not kid suitable, like those crows eating that guy's eyes? Yeah. I might not complain, I actually found that awesome, but you know. Therapy claims.
The Kraken was a bit too much, even if it was pretty impressing. Eeeeh, Norrington ate my heart, all scruffy and manly an WOW. I still don't know why people liked him before this one, but OMG HE'S SO DAMN COOL. And the fight with all the guys? WONDERFUL. Woah, am I really supposed to wait a year for the next one? ;-; *wants it now*
I'm already uploading the pictures from NYC, expect picspam tonight *g* Anyone kind enough to tell me how won Project Runway's second season? Please?
I really feel like writing X-Men Movieverse genfic, so, any ideas? Just a little prompt or character, people.
PS. I HATE the Mexican mail. Kindly do die, kthnx.
Just thinking of checking my flist is daunting. Please, tell me if I missed something important. Writers in my flist, link me to your fic. Seriously.
Aroma: Noun, Scent, Odour. (both As as in 'and', the way all As are pronounced in Spanish; soft R and O as in 'know') I like this word because it's so smooth and light, no hard syllabes or consonants. It's seldomly used, unless in poetry or pretty writing, which is a shame.
