Oh. My. God. I'm studying for an Aesthetics exam and I'm seething at the poor language being abused on my sodden textbook. IT IS HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE AND IT PAINS MY ORTOGRAPHICALLY CORRECT SOUL.

complete with visual aid! )

IT BURNS US, MY PRECIOUS, IT BURNS.

Leaving the picture in a humongous size so y'all can appreciate the sheer horror of it.

What better way of fighting wanks than wanking against grammatical rape!

In other news, it appears that I will be reading Civil War, which I've been avoiding so far (because I really, really dislike Captain America and the only good thing he ever did was fight for the right side in Civil War but STILL), because teh boyfriend is lending it to me. It's in Spanish, though, ugh, because all the comics he reads in English are the ones I lend him and all the comis I ever read in Spanish are the one he lends me XD

Why, yes, I'm dating a comic geek. It's fun, you should all try it. XD

OMG TAKE A LOOK AT MY LAYOUT ([livejournal.com profile] nekare!) IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL AND I GOT IT FROM [livejournal.com profile] thefulcrum. I lurve it. My journal no longer looks like crap just only because I'm pants with computers. :)

First day of school... Was actually nice, go figure. It was soooo nice to get there and talk with friends and hang out, so very different than my actual first day last semester. My first peried teacher didn't show up until 8 something since no one had told her the class had been moved to 7 *eyeroll* and of course I woke up at 4 since I kept thinking I wouldn't hear the alarm. So in all, a good day, even if I'm practically in any class with the people I like the most *is le sad* (and it was misty next to the cliffs and you could see nothing but white after the precipice. Which was pretty.)

Then tragedy hit when my car didn't start at the end of the day. Why? Because I'd forgotten to turn my lights off at morning, and the battery like, died. *grieves* I called my insurance, and they said they'd be there from 60 to 90 minutes, so I just went and had some guys I barely know help me. It was real stressful, though, since I was like 'I just can't stop. Can't or I won't reach home. CAN'T.' but well, I'm home, the battery's recharged, and I just hope it won't happen again.

Still, first my poor mirror and then this - AM I JINXED, OR SOMETHING???

Empañar: Steam up, verb ('e' as in 'end', both 'a's as in 'and', ñ as in, uh, ñ Tonic syllable in 'ñar'). While the meaning is beautiful in both languages, I like it far better in Spanish, although that might have to do with the fact that phrasal verbs aren't exactly the prettiest things ever. The ñ, for some reason, makes me think of this word as something sprinkled, water-y, which fits with the meaning very well.

My brother has been the most annoying drama queen all day long, starting since this morning when I went and taught my grandpa to use his computer and just because he helped for like, ten minutes, he wanted half the money! UGH. I kinda wanted to throttle him.

I got my groove back a while before, though, when my cousin Nadia called me to say her aunt had already given back her Smallivelle DVDs, so she'll be borrowing me the first four seasons, yay! I'll be picking them up tomorrow, so I'll probably be having a week-long marathon, or something. :)

I watched up to ep. 14 or Ergo Proxy yesterday, and my God, but how much I love that show. I'll be making a review post tomorrow, before I get sucked into Smallville. And ugh, how I hope the group that subs it will get to upload the rest soon. (man, I sound like such a whiny fic-reviewer, or something, but me? = OBSESSED.) It's odd how my my favorite favorite animes of all times (manga is a different thing), are all made by kinda the same people: Cowboy Bebop, Witch Hunter Robin and Samurai Champloo. o_0 Speaking of which, Manolo, a friend of mine hasn't returned WHR. DAMN IT I WANNA SEE IT AGAIN.

I finally got to burn the first half of Day Watch, and I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN IT. I fail at life.

Anhelo: To Yearn, to long for. (The H doesn't make any sound in Spanish, we actually call it 'mute'. A as in 'and', elo as in 'hello'.) I love this word because it's so evocative, it somehow matches the meaning. I love the spelling too - the H doesn't do anything, but it sure looks pretty in there. It sounds a bit like 'Aéreo', which makes me think of this word as delicate and air-born, smoke-like.

The bad thing about waking up so late is that it somehow feels as if you've wasted an entire morning. Bah. I want to try and draw a bit this afternoon, I've had this idea going round and round in my mind for a few weeks. And joy, I've found a bit of watercolor paper! I still have to go and buy some more, though.

About Ultimate X-Men, how much does 'Return of the King' rocks? A LOT. But really, one'd think they could stick to a single artirst, for God's sake. And again, while I love the style of Chris Bachalo (from Ultimate War), it still doesn't fit with X-Men - he draws women beatufifully, but his men end up looking ar too chartoony for this kind of comic. But yeah, much love. (And apparently, both him and Kaare Andrews dislike Jean's short hair as much as I do XD)

I'll be posting my sentences in a bit, but before that, some music! The first two are songs that I fell in love with while hearing a promo for The L Word's second season, two are from the Nana movie, one from the anime, and the other two just because *g*

The Organ - Brother
Ladytron - Playgirl
Fall Out Boy - Dance Dance
Hi-fi - Hard to Beat
(Nana) Mika Nakashima - Glamourous Sky
Nana (anime) opening - Rose
(Nana) Mika Nakashima - My Medicine

I posted Nine/TARDIS/Ten OTP fic yesterday, btw.

Página: Page, Noun. (the G is pronounced like the English H) I like this word because the G sounds very smooth and soft, which contrasts with the strong P. And it helps the fact that it has to do with books XD

Okay, I guess it's time for a real entry.

My grandma's in the hospital. We didn't find out until yesterday, since one of my uncles was out of town as well and the other one is like, afraid of cell phones, or something. The signal wouldn't have gotten to the States anyway. I haven't gone to see her yet, but she's all right, she only needed an IV to get a bit of strenght back. She should be out in a couple of days, God be willing.

It's nice to be home, although I never feel as alive as when traveling. Still, having lots of fanfic to read and go to bed at 4 am and waking up at 12:30 it's ALL kinds of wonderful. AND having my lovely bed back.

I finally got to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest yesterday. OMG It's all kinds of wonderful. They really outdid themselves with... )Woah, am I really supposed to wait a year for the next one? ;-; *wants it now*

I'm already uploading the pictures from NYC, expect picspam tonight *g* Anyone kind enough to tell me how won Project Runway's second season? Please?

I really feel like writing X-Men Movieverse genfic, so, any ideas? Just a little prompt or character, people.

PS. I HATE the Mexican mail. Kindly do die, kthnx.

Just thinking of checking my flist is daunting. Please, tell me if I missed something important. Writers in my flist, link me to your fic. Seriously.

Aroma: Noun, Scent, Odour. (both As as in 'and', the way all As are pronounced in Spanish; soft R and O as in 'know') I like this word because it's so smooth and light, no hard syllabes or consonants. It's seldomly used, unless in poetry or pretty writing, which is a shame.

Have finally started writing my Tenth Doctor Ficathon entry. As it goes, I'm not too sure of it, and it's making me want to write hot Nine/Ten. omg I'm so going to hell. ;-; It's only 500 words so far, though, so I have a lot of work to do if I wanna finish it tomorrow at the latest.

Well, I finally watched Nana yesterday. And over all, I liked it a lot. As I've said, the casting was reaaaally well done, especially Komatsu Nana (or should I say Hachi? Or better yet, should I say Eight? XDD Eight and Seven, yay!), who looked as if she had come out of the paper. Nobu's actor is still pretty hot, but... he looks kinda stupid while laughing. And that's all that Nobu does, so Ren was the eye-candy. And OMG THE CLOTHES I WANT THOSE CLOTHES. A bit from both the Nanas XDcut for lenght and/or possible spoilers )

I was distracted, though, with PotC:CotBP, which was on TV. Sadly, it was in Spanish (which usually makes me run for the hills), but it was on Disney Channel, and their dubbs are much better than the local ones. This one was decent, and Jack still sounded drunk XD Anyway, my, but how much can I love that movie? And why exactly is it that I don't own it? *loves on teh pirates*

Sueño: (the ñ is pronounced the same way as the -nho in Portuguese, think Ronladinho and you got it.) Noun, Dream. I like this word because it starts really soft, and then the ñ makes the word strong. It's such a flexible word, it can work for saying 'I'm sleepy' the same as 'I had a dream last night', besides having such a lovely meaning.

Yesterday, late at night, I saw a pretty cool music video. The animation was both cute and impeccably done, matching the lyrics. It had a pretty good dark atmosphere, and low, muted colors that fitted very well - all of that without mentioning the nice cameos. So, this all sounds very good, so, what's the bad part of it, you'll be wondering. That it was a Tatiana ) video.

Clearly, there's something horribly wrong with humanity. *weeps*

I'm downloading the Nana movie, because I was going through fan pages and the casting seems sooo good (it's like, every actor fits their character, or something), and because the actor playing Nobu is hot. As in hot with a BIG, capital H. *drools* I'll let you know if it's any good.

I'm still writing my sentences - so much for finishing today - and oooh, but I suddenly want to write Nine-era fic. Don't ask me why, but I do. So there's been some Nine/Rose, some Rose/Jack and more importantly, some Nine/Rose/Jack OT3 goodness *g* Oh my, but this is fun!

CRAPPY NEWS TOUGH: Zoé will be signing autopraphs on the 26th. I won't come back from New York until the frikin 27th. GRRRR. Not only will I be missing the concert, but I'll miss the chance to see them in person. *weeps again*

Esdrújula. A grammatical rule for accentuation, saying that all the words with the tonic syllable in the third to last syllable must always be accentuated. I love this word because not only it's the living example of the rule, but it also has such a nice ring to it (the tongue just rolls so pleasently around the strong drú), and because it just can't be translated to English.

I went out to have tacos tonight. Ouch, ouch, but my belly aches. I should really lay off chile - but then again, I know that, and I never do it. I always come home with the heartburn of a century, and then I go and do it all over again. *sigh* I'm just like my mom, too addicted to tacos to stop.

ANYWAY (and because I bet no one wanted to know that...). I went to the CD store for the third day in a row and the frikin Zoe CD hasn't arrived yet. *eyeroll* People at Mr. CD don't even know when it's going to come out!

Well, it sure felt nice to post fic again. It'd been, what, a week? Man, I'm such a geek. In other news, I started my sentences for [livejournal.com profile] 1fandom today, yay! I've only got like, 11 of them, but I want to finish tomorrow or Saturday at most. It's quite fun, actually. :)

I was planing to stay in this afternoon and draw some more, but a)my watercolor paper is running out and b)I went to see my little cousins and my grandma instead. It was fun, seeing my two-year-old cousin forcing false lipstick on me XD

For [livejournal.com profile] moonix: Océano (with english pronuntiation: Oh - ce - ah - no), Ocean. I love both the sound and the spelling of this word, visually because aesthetically, the o and the e look good while so close; and the sound because it's such an evocative word - the accent makes it wavy, going up and down just like the meaning.
